Razer 15 (2019 base) wont recognize that it is plugged in | Razer Insider

I have a Razer 15 laptop 2019 base model (RZ09-03009) that will not recognize that the ac adapter is plugged in. The issue initially started with it alternating between battery power and recognizing that it was plugged in but now does recognize that it is plugged in at all.

I have tried everything on this list of troubleshooting(https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1798/~/razer-blade-does-not-have-power%2C-wont-boot-up-or-turn-on)

It has a almost brand new battery (replaced about 2 months ago)

I tried buying a brand new ac adapter which did not resolve it.

The green light on the ac adapter is lit.

I have tried multiple power outlets and confirmed the outlet has power.

Where did you purchase this device from a dealer or from an authorized outlet of the company?

Do you have a warranty for the device?

Why didn't you contact their technical support?

I purchased it thru the Razer store on Amazon. The laptop was purchased in early 2020 so after almost 4 years I assume any warranty has passed. I posted on Razer support since that seemed like the most logical place to ask for support.

For this reason, I am afraid to buy from this company because I am from Egypt and there is no official mandate for the company to repair the fragile device if any malfunction occurs.

I can't speak to that but I'm on my 3rd battery and second power adapter, and now the current issue above. Performance has been great but the amount of power/battery issues I've had with this one machine have been too much.

What three batteries!!

Where do you live? Do you live close to the company's official stores or do you order them from Amazon?

I feel that this device is not powerful enough and that it does not deserve all this fame. I feel that its fame is exaggerated because these things are not supposed to happen to the device.

I've been having the same issue. Tried resetting BIOS, battery and AC drivers, updating to windows 11, back to 10 and nothing. PowerShell admin battery report says the battery and power are fine and full, but the laptop thinks it's running on battery so performance drops significantly. I refuse to send it in cause I'm sure razer will say I need a new motherboard or something ridiculous.

Did you find a fix???

I did not find a fix. Digging into it, when I opened the back of the laptop up I noticed a small brown discolored area near to where the cables from the power adapter plugged in. It looked like a small burn. I’m not entirely sure what the cause was but I know that discolored area wasn’t there 6 months prior the last time I had the backplate open. Honestly I gave up on trying to get it repaired. The laptop was 4 years old, and I had already dumped another $500+ in repairs, battery replacements, and ac adapter replacements over the years; I wasn’t about to waste any more money trying to repair the thing so I bought a new laptop (Lenovo Legion). Sorry that’s not very helpful.

Thanks, it's a damn shame but I'll likely do the same. Razer told me to send it in and it could be a motherboard replacement and I just don't trust them enough to not charge me the most they can regardless of what it actually needs. Thanks for your reply!
