Hi
Only had my laptop since January and it's been working fine. Noticed yesterday the touch pad isn't accepting any left or right mouse click (I normally use an external mouse). When the laptop boots up, the cursor is showing a blue box as if you were holding down the left mouse button to drag and select even though I'm not clicking any buttons. The cursor moves around the screen with the touchpad as normal, just can't select anything with a click or tap.
I've searched the forums and there are lots of things about synaptic drivers, ELAN drivers, upgrading the drivers etc and none of this seems to work so I was suspecting hardware failure. Just booted ubuntu up in live mode and the touch pad works perfectly so I'm suspecting it's software related. Noticed a Razer Inc - HID Class - 6.2.9200.16469 driver update which was installed on 27th May not sure if this is related?
Windows is reporting a precision touch pad, it's all setup ok, turned on and the disable touch pad when mouse plugged in isn't ticked either, unplugging the external mouse makes no difference anyway.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
