Razer 15 Base Keyboard Mapping Error | Razer Insider

My base Razer 15 (2021) laptop suddenly developed an issue. Pressing the ‘5’ key on the actual laptop keyboard erroneously maps to ‘alt + 5’.

I’ve tried running the keyboard troubleshooter in windows. I tried uninstalling the keyboard driver. I’ve turned off sticky keys and all other keyboard gimmicks in windows. I’ve checked in Razer Synapse, it doesn’t show any shortcuts or macros assigned to the key. It feels like a windows registry error, but I’m not quite savvy enough to play around in the windows registry without clear guidance.  I’ve also run Windows Defender, full and deep scan, and even installed malwarebytes and ran a scan using that. Nothing. It seems to have started after the latest round of windows updates. One night, after I played Starcraft 2,(which uses in game hot keys), it just started to behave strangely.

I am able to remap the key virtually using Microsoft PowerToys, but it’s annoying that I have to run additional software to remap the key virtually, rather than it being natively mapped correctly in Windows 11 itself. It’s a truly bizarre error, as all the other number keys along the top of the keyboard work perfectly, but the ‘5’ key thinks it is ‘alt + 5’ for some reason.

Any other ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated? Anyone who works at Razer got any advice? This laptop is amazing and everything else works perfectly, but this one little glitch is truly annoying as I do a lot of work with numbers, so it’s an issue.

Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks for any feedback or advice in advance.
