Razer 2015 Power/Charging Issues
Even though power adapter is plugged in, system does not recognize it as such and the battery icon appears as though it's just running on battery power
• the original 150w power adapter failed in 2017. while gaming, at one point the entire system would shut down. I had some success with undervolting with the Intel Extreme Tuning tool
• Months after, I eventually I shelled out a lot of money to buy the official 165w blade power adapter which worked well until last month when the same problem started reoccuring
• the battery icon would just show that the adapter has disconnected (even though it's plugged in). I've tried to undervolt and reduce the max CPU utilization but it does not help. In order to get it to start charging again, I would leave the plug in the laptop, but disconnect the cable from the power outlet, wait a few min and plug it back into the outlet. This would get the charge going again for at least a few min. But some times if I'm lucky, it will charge for longer.
• one interesting thing I noticed is that when I manage to get the charge going again and I start playing CS:GO, it will manage to keep the charge going. But once I quit CS, it the charging would disconnect again.
• when I was playing PUBG earlier, the entire system would shut down after a while and I would have to boot it up again. This happened a few times, quite sporadic
Anyone have similar issues, or any suggestions?
I've reached out to Razer support but still pending response. This is very disappointing, as I paid a premium to buy the razer branded power adapter replacement and it's failing again.
