Hey there,
I recently purchased the Razer Blade 16 2025 model with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 CPU with an Nvidia RTX 5070 GPU earlier this year.
It also has 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD blah blah blah.
The new Battlefield 6 Open Beta started last week and before playing through steam I was prompted to update my Nvidia graphics drivers to 588.0. Great, did that. After launching the game I realized I was a day early and the servers weren’t up yet so I hopped to another game, The Finals.
I quickly realized that my FPS (normally ~120 on that game) was substantially lower at 30-40 and the longer I played would drop to <20. Doing some digging looking at my task manager performances my CPU and RAM usages were almost maxing out ~80% each. My GPU was fine sitting at maybe 30%.
I first tried to update my AMD chipset drivers using their software and ensuring I had the latest drivers. Great, done? nope, my issue was still persisting.
I saw that my total RAM amount was 32 GB but only 16 BG was available to use. And 16 GB was allocated for “Hardware Reserve”. Asked ChatGPT and online, that was not right I should fix this. Decided to go into my BIOS and do a restore “optimum default”. Logged into windows again, boom, fixed my RAM issue.
Loading back into my game I’m still CPU bound with 80%-90% being used. Thought maybe restoring my BIOS messed with any performance configs Razer has set. So I downloaded the lasted 2.0 BIOS from Razer website. And updated my BIOS from I think 1.06 to 2.0. Unfortunately, my issue still persisted. Thought, maybe it’s a firmware issue? So again downloaded the latest firmware from Razer website and updated from 1.05 to 1.07, and I still have my issue.
Yes, I have tried configuring my CPU power levels and other optimization in Razer synapse.
Yes, I have going into my BIOS and also my system to use my “Dedicated GPU” (dGPU) instead of the “Nvidia Dynamic..blah”.
Yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled Razer Synapse after updating everything! and then configuring performance or custom power levels for my CPU Then restarting my system with still no affect.
My CPU metrics under load(while gaming BF6):
Temperature: ~70.9 °C
Power (PPT): ~36 W
Usage: ~95%
Clock speed: ~4.4 GHz
Core voltage: ~1.1 V
TL;DR
I am having CPU usage limitation issues after updating Nvidia GPU drivers. Tried, updating CPU chipset drivers, updating BIOS and Firmware from Razer. Configuring power levels in Razer Synapse. All still persisting with my issue.
