Razer Barracuda - Not blinking when charging & Can't update firmware


I’ve bought Razer Barracuda this January and recently about two days ago, the light indicator is not blinking/turned on while charging. The light indicator works fine when  i turning on/off the headphone, pairing bluetooth, switch mode etc. And i thought it’s firmware issue, so i checked for updates. But then, when i tried to update it to 1.5.0-1.02.00 versin, the updater gave me this error (attached) and my razer suddenly disconnected. Tried to reconnect and update again but still the same.

 

Anyone have experienced this?

OP here..

So somehow my headphone is blinking again while charging. Still not sure how its fixed tho, but my best guesses are either windows update or synapse update (which still doesn’t make sense what the correlation of it), because i mostly charge using phone charger not my PC.


As for @MrEg01st ‘s question, Razer offered me to RMA but unfortunately my region is not covered in their shipping destinations. So maybe you guys can reach them through razer support ticket, and hopefully they offered the RMA.

Did you already try to reinstall the driver of your headset? PM me the serial number so I can validate its model and check for other workarounds. Thank you!

Hi @Razer.Zionzedd ,

I did reinstall the driver through device manager (‘im on Windows) but still nothing. The firmware updater still gave me the same error. Are there any other ways to reinstall the driver? I sent you my serial number.

I am having this same problem. The battery is charging just fine, but it does not blink red as it should. Synapse sometimes recognize the headset, sometimes it doesnt. And sometimes it says the barracuda needs firmware update, but it fails to do so (same error as OP). Tried a clean install of synapse, tried a new cable, and even formatting my PC. Nothing changes.

I have the same problem with my Razer Barracuda. Among other things, today there was some kind of bug and when you connect headphones via bluetooth, the volume is no longer adjustable when the volume is actively synchronized. I tried to fix this by resetting the settings, but Synapse does nothing and there are no other options other than firmware update. Removed the driver, reinstalled the synapse, installed the latest version of Windows 11.

I have the exact problem. Previously,  I update the firmware and it die on me. My whole set cannot work and need to RMA. The technician advise me not to update any firmware. Today, I discover while charging there is no light indication. I try to update the firmware again and it fail at 70%. I was very scare as I thought my set is dead again. Luckily, I power up my set and plug out/in the dongle and it can be detected. I run the firmware setup to check the version. Still the old one. I think I had to live with the no light charging issue.

Same issue here, Dongle connects fine, headset connects fine, but as soon as the update starts the headset shuts itself off, and it will no longer blink while charging.

I have exactly the same problem, and when I turn off the headset, it says ‘Po-’ instead of ‘PowerOff’.

It's the same with me! I hope this will be fixed soon, because when I bought headphones, the same charge indicator was flashing

Guys, I have the same issue. 

The exact same issues. At first I realized that my Barracuda suddenly drain in battery, last I checked it was 80% and after reconnecting it, it reduces to around 30%. I tried to charged it and realized the charging indicator light neither red or green as follows:

 

 

I thought it was firmware issue, and tried to re-install it, but the same error message occur exactly like @chocoblast . It said need an update, but after continuing the update, the Barracuda shut off and the error message pop up. 

 

I also have the same issue with @wusland. As I can remember, previously before fully shut off the woman inside the headphone will complete a full sentence “Power Off” instead it was only ‘Po-”.

 

Its an issue happening to more than 10 people using Razer Products, I think there should be a real solution for this matter. Its Razer dude, not some fake Chinese product

Same Issue exactly here, Status LED do not blink when charging and does not give any indication for completion!!, Also tried the firmware updater same thing happened after clicking install 3 seconds then headset shuts down on its own and error appears on updater!!, PLEASE HELP

I am having this exact problem as well, but looking at this thread, I can see that representatives that look at this forum have about the same attention span as the customer support via email (that of a goldfish).  I’ve been through two headsets, and this is my third headset (Razor Barracuda 2.4 Black) from Razor.  So far, I am VERY thoroughly dissatisfied with the quality of the product and I have yet to get a response back on either technical support or email.  Razer, if you can’t fix the problem, give us refunds for the products that keep breaking.

I just got this problem yesterday, and I don’t know how to fix this problem!!

No light blinking when charging, and fails to update the firmware...

Hi, @chocoblast  listen to the question, what version of Synapse and Windows do you have, and if you turn off the headphones, the phrase Power Of will be pronounced completely?Or it will end with "Po"?

Also, do you use any Razer apps other than Synapse?


Razer, where is the Synapse update? The problem with the THX Audio mixer was not solved in Barracuda Pro
