I’ve bought Razer Barracuda this January and recently about two days ago, the light indicator is not blinking/turned on while charging. The light indicator works fine when  i turning on/off the headphone, pairing bluetooth, switch mode etc. And i thought it’s firmware issue, so i checked for updates. But then, when i tried to update it to 1.5.0-1.02.00 versin, the updater gave me this error (attached) and my razer suddenly disconnected. Tried to reconnect and update again but still the same.

Anyone have experienced this?

Thanks in advance!

It’s a major firmware bug and also it’s very annoying thing. When you try to charge your device while headphone on, your device may have this bug. Solution is very easy. Remove right speaker cap and four screw from unit. After that disconnect the Li-on battery from the unit for a while. When the battery disconnected try to turn on your unit. Then you can connect battery connector. That is the solution.

Enjoy!

I have this problem and i want to try this solution to fix it but…

Will this process void the warranty of the device? Because, unfortunately, such operations can generally void the warranty of the devices and i don't want to void the warranty. Because i bought this device 2 months ago and this headphone is really expensive for me.

I do confirm that it fixes the led issue and that it is really easy to do, thank you!

It doesn’t fix the «power off» voice being cut when you turn it off but that…

I guess it is as it is and is it really important? Not in my opinion.

The weird part is that before, the firmware updater said an update was required (from v1.05.00 to v1.05.00_r2) and it never worked because the headset was shutting down almost immediately, but after this operation, it shows that my firmware is already up to date (v1.05.00_r2) and thus that no update is needed.

Anyway, it is fixed now.

Now remains a question, as I don’t want to try by myself: do we have to avoid charging the headset while it is turned on to avoid causing the bug again?

That's why i don't wanna do this method with my own initiative. Because it voids the warranty and there's no confirmed fix for this issue and this solution has a 50/50 chance for fixing the issue or making it worse and this repairing method will definitely voids the warranty of the headset and i think it's not worth it for these such risky repair methods. And my headset just working fine if i didn't care of this issue. Because this issue don't even interrupt any of my headset's functions.

I hope razer can fix this issue but yeah i can live with it if my headset never got serious issues with it's critical functions.

I finally tested to plug and charge it while it was turned on and so far so good, the led works as it should.

The operation is not risky at all, it's child play and there is no reason Razer should know that you opened the headset unless you tell them (or come here to brag about it, but even in this case it is very unlikely that the people in charge will see it).

There is not a "50/50 chance of making things worse".

It's about removing four screws, unplugging a connector, trying to turn on the headset to clear some memory and plugging the connector back. I don't see what you can do wrong unless you're the clumsiest person on this planet.

Don't pull the speaker cap too hard and too far as there is a wire connecting it to the headset but that's about it, you still have a lot of room to move. You would really need to try to break it to break it.

Now if your headset works fine and you don't feel the need to do anything about it, then good indeed, just don't do it, that's not worth it and I don't know why we are speaking about it in the first place.

Actually, yes, I can apply the solution as you said, but I wrote this comment because it is written in the warranty document that opening it will void the warranty and of course I do not know whether this solution really works. If the headphones break again over time, you can reply here.

I have these same exact issues but yesterday something new is happening that never happened before.. Now I get random 3 to 5 second sound cut outs.. They happen randomly like I said and it only happens with this headset as I have other I tested on my system with no issues… Ive tried everything from removing synapse, moving the dongle to different port.. Removing and reinstalling drivers ect. Never ending issues with this headset..

My headset suddenly self - fixed the not blinking while charging problem but i won't do the firmware update of my headset because im not sure there will no problem while updating and wrecking the headset's firmware again so i won't do any updates and i hope razer will fix this problem and show us solution ways

And it looks like razer sending new updates to their synapse software I hope they can really fix issues with their headsets after the updates that razer headsets really needed it for

@everyone

For everyone still having this issue, check the firmware page again. Mine got fixed with the new update!!

Well, did the update and still getting 3 to 5 second sound cut outs.. Dont understand whats happening… What trash.. Dealing with this issue for sometime now and the conclusion is they are garbage.. would try a new dongle but they are always sold out on their website..

Guys, there is an update, now, be careful, I got the same error at 70% , maybe try to disconnect from bluetooth, let only the dongle connection, but the device got updated to the latest firmware, so for me it worked. If you get the error , try again. https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6227

Even if you update,
THX sound and EQ settings Not Working!
I did it, but in Synapse 3 there is no way to adjust the THX sound and EQ settings.
