Razer Barracuda X 2022 firmware updater won't recognize dongle | Razer Insider

Hi all,

I’ve had my Razer Barracuda X 2022 for a few months now, and it’s great when it works, but I’ve had a lot of issues where it fails to switch between Bluetooth devices and the Wifi dongle. It seems to stick like glue to any Bluetooth device, I have to disable Bluetooth on my iPhone and Macbook to force it to swap to the 2.4G dongle. And sometimes it won’t connect to the dongle even then. It’s very inconsistent.

I’m hoping that updating the firmware might solve these issues. But I’m running into problems there as well.

When I open Barracuda X_FirmwareUpdater_v2.4.0_r4, it prompts me to connect the dongle before I can click ‘Next’. But although it’s connected (I’ve tried directly connecting to both USB-C ports on my PC), and it’s recognized by the computer, the ‘Next’ button never lights up.

Any workarounds or fixes that can allow me to progress with the firmware update would be great. Or any other pointers on the other issues I’m having. TIA.

i have the same trouble's. its insane that a product this old can have these problems for so long. razer wont do anything about it. ive read this on multiple forums and posts even here on razer.com. the support is not helpfull.

Just in case it’s helpful to anyone, I’ve found today that I must have been trying the wrong firmware updater, which is why it wouldn’t detect the dongle.

I downloaded RazerBarracudaX_0552_FirmwareUpdater_v1.6.0_r1 and this successfully detected my wifi dongle and my headset.

However it notified me that my firmware is already up to date, so my issues with switching between bluetooth and wifi still remain.

Hi ElectricLime, can you tell me where you downloaded this other firmware updater, do you have the link? thank :)
