Razer Barracuda X not producing audio when connected to PC | Razer Insider

I bought my headset back in June and never had any major issues apart from taking forever to connect after my computer restarted, however now it refuses to play any audio. It plays the connected sound, my computer shows it in Output, and everything on Window's part finds no issues with it with the exception of it not being able to play a test sound. My headset works with other devices so the dongle still works and the port I'm plugging it into is able to charge devices so it seems to function well too. Even 7.1 Surround Sound sees it as a valid device and is able to connect to it, but it just doesn't play any audio. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have the same problems, and it is clear lots of people do with this device. Why are none of these threads being answered?

My Barracuda X worked perfectly until about a week ago. Now when I switch it on the following happens.

  1. I often don’t hear the “pairing” voice notification
  2. The device will connect to Windows, but sound continues to emanate from the system device, not the headphones.
  3. Headphones pair and work normally on all other devices
  4. When the headphones are connected, they are not listed as an output device so can’t be selected to handle the sound.
  5. All other bluetooth headphones I’ve tried work fine with the computer, so this is definitely a Razer issue.

My only advice at this stage to anyone reading is avoid this company and its products. They can’t be guaranteed to work, and when they don’t you can’t get any help.
