Hi, I have a problem with my Razer Barracuda X Plus (model name may vary depending on region). The sounds are too quiet. This only happens when I connect it via my 2.4g receiver. It started to happen yesterday. My firmware is updated and i dont think thats the problem. Its like the volume has been tuned down. I used to set my volume to about 30%, in which i liked and was loud enough for my liking. But now, I have to turn it to about 60% to get similar sound volumes. This doesnt happen when connected via bluetooth, its almost too loud if connected via bluetooth. Can I get some help? Thanks.

Can’t help you but I have found the same issue. Got them yesterday and max system+headset volume over 2.4ghz is too low. 100% all over the board should be unbearable, not a normal setting to listen to music.
You’re not alone in this issue.
Making the Barracuda X my default audio output instead of the 7.1 speaker fixed this!!
If You Barracuda X Plus With Sound Blaster Or Realtek Audio At The Same Time
Open Sound Contgrol Pannel to Th Speaker Option And Go To Advanced Option,
Turn Off The Audio Enhanced Check Box, And Attempted Using Barracuda X Plus
On 2.4Gh Wireless Dongle Mode.
Audio Enhanced Means Sound Card’s Self Surround Effect, So If You Turn On And
Use Barracuda X Plus, You Use Two Surrounds Effects,
I Think It Crashing To Each Other. Please Turn Off Sound Card’s Audio Enhanced Option.
If You Want Using Barracuda X Plus’s Surround Effect.
I Glad To Give Support To You Some Reason.
And If You Sound Blaster G6 Or Higher Level Sound Cards
Change Speaker Playback : 32bit 48KHz → 24Bit 48Khz
I Don’s Know Reason, But When It Plays At 24 Bit 48k

- Open Sound Settings (
Win + R, typemmsys.cpl, hit Enter). - Go to the Playback tab and find Razer Barracuda X 2.4 (might be different).
- Click Properties, then head to the Levels tab.
- Drop the volume down a bit, then set it back to 100%.
Your volume should now be back to normal. Not sure why this happens, but it works! Let me know if it helps.

I registered just to say.. THANKS!!!! Holy crap I’ve been dealing with this issue for over a year and couldn’t figure it out. This worked immediately to fix my volume. Creating a script to automate this task at startup. Thanks again!

2️⃣ Turn on your headset during the boot screen (before Windows fully loads).
- If you hear "pairing," you're good to go. (this fixes the headset not connecting or not being detected in windows)
3️⃣ Turn off your headset after your PC is completely off (prevents weird connection bugs).
this should fix all the problems, razer could have just provided some driver for this or maybe a software but no lets focus on phone users bruh
This also happened to me today =(
Big difference being i never paired it with PC, it happened after pairing over bluetooth with my iPhone to see what settings were available in the app. I changed the EQ to game mode, noticed the volume was lower, then put it back to Default and it’s never been the same since. I would say it’s about 20% less volume even at man.

Hey there! That’s super annoying — I’ve actually seen this happen with a few wireless headsets.
Since Bluetooth is fine but the 2.4GHz dongle isn’t, it’s likely either:
the receiver got partially out of sync (or picked up interference), or
a Windows (or device) update changed the output levels.
A few things you can try:
✅ Unplug the dongle, wait 10 seconds, and plug it into a different USB port.
✅ Go into your OS audio settings → find your headset → and check if the volume levels / enhancements got changed (some updates reset these).
✅ Open Razer Synapse (or whatever your model uses) and verify the EQ settings or profiles.
✅ Try the dongle on another device to see if the issue follows.
I had a similar weird device glitch recently while working on a local project for asbestos removal in Cleveland totally different use case, but it turned out to be a small driver reset that fixed things.

I tried them on another PC and they sounded normal, but on the one I used, they sounded quiet. I solved the problem by reinstalling the audio drivers; other methods didn't work for me.
Having this problem right now. ive tried all the suggestion above but it seems that the problem is still there. is there any other solution?
I just got the Razer Barracuda X and first tried it on my iPhone with the Razer Audio app, and it worked perfectly. After a bit, I wanted to check out the sound on my computer through THX, but the volume wasn’t as loud as it was on my phone.
I looked online for a solution and found some tips, but none of them worked for me. While I was searching, I stumbled upon the official page for the product and checked out the "Razer Barracuda X (2022) | RZ04-04430 Support & FAQs" section. I spotted the Drivers & Downloads tab and decided to download and install both the pairing app and the firmware (install the pairing app first, then the firmware).
After doing all that, everything was fixed! Hopefully, this helps anyone else who just bought the product.
