My headphones work perfectly fine when they are connected to my laptop wirelessly via the dongle but when they are plugged in the audio sounds as if I have water stuck in my ear and people tell me my mic sounds terrible. I don't know the reason for this, I have checked the mic and the wired cable visual for any dirt or anything else and I can't see anything.

    Try to update the audio driver of your PC (Realtek audio driver). You can also follow the steps here for further isolation.
