Razer Basilisk V3 Free-Spin Broken | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
For some odd reason, the Free-Spin mode on my Basilisk V3 has stopped functioning. It's forever stuck with the tactile spin. Setting it directly to free-spin in Synapse doesn't change it, also, hitting the button on the mouse that is "Scroll Mode Toggle" doesn't change it either.

I've rebooted, and re-plugged the mouse. Still no more free spin :(

Thoughts?
I got the same problem. Yesterday it worked. Today nothing. Tried everything from, re-plugging, rebooting, remove and re-install the drivers.

Nothing works. Would be very glad for any help or informations...

I’ve tried everything, including putting it on other computers. Gotta be a physical failure. I’ve gone through the process of getting an RMA from Razer. It’s a lengthy process, but I’ve shipped it out and waiting for a new one.

Damn. Then it will be the same sh!t with my problem. What does RMA mean? (I'm from Germany) Is it like guarantee and the mouse will be repaired or you get a new one?
Yeah pretty much. It's short for "Return Merchandise Authorization". Which means you send it to Razer and they will either fix it or give you a new one.

They have two methods, you can either send it and wait. Or you can pay retail price, they will send you a new one immediately, and you send yours back to them. Once they determine it's faulty they'll issue a refund.

I got plenty of spare mice, so I just sent mine and gonna wait. 🙂
Also I did notice something super awkward about this failure. Software-wise it still thinks its in free spin mode, if you spin it fast while in free spin mode (eventhough it's tactile feeling) it will scroll pages fast. So the SOFTWARE seems to be doing the right thing, its just the mouse isn't physically matching.

Ok, then I have to do the same thing. I've wrote the sup today. I think they will do the same thing...

Yeah I saw it in my Synapse to when I clicked the button on my mouse or in the software it changes but not in the mouse itself.
Hey ArchV! Sorry to hear about your mouse concern. Thanks for educating dasCursey about Razer's RMA process. Feel free to submit a case to our Support Team or send me a PM should you need additional assistance.
