Razer Basilisk v3 mouse scroll wheel extremely sensitive

I purchased my Razer Basilisk v3 mouse for its ergonomic features (helps with some wrist pain) and I’ve been trying to use it for the past 3 months but it’s been difficult without some frustration.  The mouse itself works well but the mouse wheel seems to scroll way too freely and is sensitive to the point that even when I don’t move the mouse wheel and just move my mouse over a document, there will be a slight up and down scroll when not intended.  Is this a hardware fault?

Hello rskrodzki,

Have there been any incidents involving your mouse before the current issue? Do you notice any visible physical damage to the device? Is the scroll wheel difficult to turn or stuck in a certain position? Let’s try to narrow down the issue further. Please perform the troubleshooting steps in this article and try connect your Razer Basilisk V3 to a different computer that does not have Razer Synapse installed. Ensure that you are plugging the device directly into a USB port. If the problem persists, send me a PM with your device’s serial number and proof of purchase so I can check for replacement options. Also, attach a short recording showing the problem for team visibility. You can upload it Google Drive and set the privacy to "Public" or “Anyone with the link” so we can view it. All the best!
