Razer Basilisk V3 (wired) Constantly Connecting and Disconnecting

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with my Razer Basilisk V3 (wired). The mouse constantly disconnects and reconnects. Sometimes, lights on the mouse flash Red/Pink about once every second.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a solution? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Same here. I’ve plugged it into another laptop, and it was still the same. I tried to update the firmware, but the app wouldn’t even recognize the mouse because it kept disconnecting very quickly. I also see pink lights before it disconnects.

I’m having exact same issue with this mouse.

Did any of you figure this out? Mine just started doing this after the last Synapse update. Been reading dozens of forum threads but nothing from Razer on it at all.

Same thing after plugging in and unplugging it like 100 times it worked, then eventually turned off my pc and went exactly back to connecting and disconnecting. Anyone found a solution?

I have the Basilisk V3 - wired version and went through this.

Tried everything, firmware, driver removal and reinstall, Synapse reinstall, different USB port, different PC, etc etc.

Eventually found a comment on a thread here and somewhere on reddit about the free wheel scroll actuator failing. It seems to be pretty common for people with this mouse but no real information around.

With Razer’s complete lack of help for anyone outside of their warranty period, regardless of how widespread this issue is, I made a video to help people.
If you cut only the thin ribbon cable leading to the free scroll actuator, you will disable it and the mouse will be functional again but will only have tactile scroll.
You can test if this is your issue before proceeding by unplugging the ribbon cable and testing if the mouse powers up before cutting it.

Hope this helps
