Razer Blackshark V2 NC WIRED - Mic Issues

Sorry if this is a long one.

The mic on my Blackshark V2 (wired) doesn’t work. As of currently there are a few things I’ve been able to find out about it, but it’s not much. (This is all on windows) I’m not the greatest w/ this stuff, but this has been an issue for at least a year and a half now.

  • I’ve done all the basic troubleshooting that I could find: make sure it’s not muted, give apps permission, enable it as default audio and communication device.
  • I’ve tried de-installing the driver, restarting, and re-installing the driver using the windows automatic search.
  • Internally it is referred to as “Microphone (High Definition Audio Device)”
  • It is currently using a mic splitter extension cable, but reversing the order of the two wires that leads off causes the headset/mic to change.
  • In it’s normal form, the sound is louder and a touch clearer, but the mic does not work. Instead, it only produces a constant static that registers at around a 10-13% when I test it in sound settings. It does not react to external stimuli.
  • When I reverse the order of the probes, the sound from the headphones sometimes gets a bit fuzzier and way quieter, but other times has entirely stopped working. The microphone continues to emit a heavy static, but if I record me speaking into the mic I can hear myself semi-faintly, like it’s underwater.
  • Going off this guide (How to fix headset mic issues (too sensitive, distorted or buzzing sound, unresponsive or not picking up sound)), I noticed two distinct differences: a) as referenced above the driver is called “Microphone (High Definition Audio Device)” and not “Microphone (Realtek High Definition Audio Device)” and b) despite both my mouse and keyboard being detected by Razer Synapse, the headset simply is not. In the video above, it recognizes a Razer Kraken headset (or so it looks like) so this seems problematic.

If you have any advice / guidance that would be great. Once more, I apologize about how messy this post is, but thank you for your time!
