Razer Blackshark V2 Pro (2020) mute button stopped working

I have had my razer blackshark v2 pro headset for years and it has worked well until recently. Whenever I press the mute button on the headset, it turns the microphone volume to 0 in razer synapse and windows settings. The problem is when I unmute it, it toggles the microphone back on, but keeps the microphone volume at 0 and I have to manually turn it back up. I believe it could be an issue with razer synapse or a recent windows update because when I force close synapse through task manager, the headset works fine, but that causes other annoying issues with things like my mouse and keyboard. If anyone knows how to fix this issue, please let me know.
