Razer BlackShark V2 Pro mic not working on applications.

I’m using a Blackshark V2 Pro (2023) headset. The mic suddenly stopped working. Windows is still picking up input from the mic, as indicated by the blue volume bar in the Windows sound settings going up when i speak. I can also hear myself completely fine when i turn on "mic monitoring (side tone)" in Razer Synapse which says it allows me to listen to my microphone directly through my headset without any enhancements. But every other mic preview doesnt work, the normal Razer Synapse mic preview, discord, online mic test website, nothing, and no one can hear me speak. When I use bluetooth mode instead it works completely fine, but at a much lower quality, so I want it working with hyperspeed wireless.

Im getting same issue here, Razer Blackshark v2 pro 2023, it kinda helps knowing that i didnt mess it up and they did.

Current FIX, download synapse 4 BETA and its currently working

im having the same issue with my razer blackshark v2 hyperspeed! It is really annoying it was working fine yesterday, i try to use them today and the mic just isnt working. ive tried many troubleshooting methods and havent found anything online to help. i hope you find a fix soon.

I’ve been having the same issue on the  Blackshark V2 Pro (2023) headset. It was working entirely fine yesterday with no issues whatsoever and today after testing my mic on discord it’s not being picked up whatever despite windows still picking it up in the sound settings. I’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled many sound drivers, removed and reconnected the device through Bluetooth, disconnected and reconnected the usb and reinstalled Razer Synapse yet the problem still persists.

I have the exact same issue with the same headset! Mic worked as recently as two days ago and suddenly it’s not getting picked up by any applications anymore (for example Discord or Streamlabs, not even the sound test in Synapse). Also tried reinstalling drivers, reinstalling Synapse (both 3 and 4), even without Synapse, replugging the USB dongle. No changes. Win10 audio settings show the mic volume bar moving, sidetone is working while either in Synapse or any other app that actively tries to use the mic (tested Windows audio settings, Discord and Streamlabs). Bluetooth mode does work, but sound is abyssmal, so not an option for streaming or recording.

Similar headset Blackshark v2 Pro (2023) with a similar issue regarding the mic -- though for some reason joining a Discord channel will show voice activity and I can hear myself on Discord’s mic monitoring but the Synapse Mic monitoring doesn’t visibly respond or allow me to hear myself at all. Along with my THX Spatial audio or EQ profiles not making any difference to the sound of the audio and even seeming to reset back to stereo according to the Synapse App’s UI if I hit the refresh button in the upper left corner. 

All started after an update to the Synapse app or headset itself yesterday then a PC restart.

Same problem here and it's honestly ridiculous i managed to dig up a temporary fix, but lets be real the mic is still way too quiet, and the sound quality is nowhere near acceptable for a headset in this price range. go into your sound settings, find the microphone, and switch the audio enhancement to Voice Clear using the Windows audio enhancement tool. It’s a band aid, not a solution this shouldn’t even be an issue

Exact same issue here after installing the latest update. I tried reinstalling Synapse 4, I tried using Synapse 3 and I tried updating firmware but nothing worked, only steps that worked were either connecting through bluetooth (which makes the audio from both the mic and headset sound awful) or using it without having Synapse installed (which ALSO makes both sound awful).

After talking to support they offered me RMA, which is unfortunately entirely pointless, since it’s not an issue with hardware but rather software. You can clearly tell, since the microphone level in Synapse shows up as undefined. Software has been an issue for quite some time now and I’m honestly pretty fed up at this point, since I’m reliant on the microphone working.

Hi Folks,

 

I am just adding to this but with a different product! I have a Razer Kraken v4 Headset and my issues are very similar and also started yesterday when I booted up to game, the night before was just fine.

 

My issues are that Razer Synapse can apply the colour settings, but when I try to apply THX Spatial Audio in the Sound tab, there’s no change to the sound in the headphones, and when I refresh the page is flips back to Stereo without me changing anything, same in the Demo tab where you can play a video and swap between the two. No difference, it’s like Synapse is blocked from making the change somehow.

 

It’s the same for the Mic Sidetone setting, that stopped working too, and no matter if I turn it off or on it makes no difference, it stays off and I can’t hear myself. Only when I go into Windows sound settings does the Mic turn on and I can hear myself, as soon as I navigate away from the sound options the mic turns off.

 

Same for applying Bass Boost, or Volume Equalisation, or any other options, non are being pushed to the headset!

 

I have been through all the recommended steps of setting devices as the default playback/recording device and setting enhancements to off or on or disabled etc, I reinstalled synapse, reset the headset, deleted the profile and started again, nothing made a difference.

 

I was already on Synapse version 4, there was an update available, and I installed it but that didn’t make a difference. I even tried uninstalling the windows update and that didn’t work either!

 

I am on Windows 11, and I can gather all the different versions of programs that I am on etc if it would be useful, but to me it sounds like some sort of software update/windows update that has happened which has broken the communication between Synapse and the headset.

 

Not sure on next steps other than raising the awareness so the Razer devs can get on it!

Mic stopped working entirely when Synapse is installed as of today. After I uninstalled it worked, but obviously without the Synapse Settings, as I reinstalled it stopped working again. I can sometimes see the mic picking up sound in the Windows Preview, but that's inconsistent and even if it's the case, the mic preview in Synapse and other apps don't get any sound from it.”

Thank you very much for this suggestion, just installed it and it WORKS! Hopefully it stays that way and will eventually be fixed for the proper release version as well.

So I downloaded the standard version 4 again fresh from the website https://www.razer.com/gb-en/synapse-4 and they have indeed hotfixed it!

 

This worked for me on my Razer Kraken v4 headset, what if you guys tried reinstalling now and see if it works for you?
