Razer Blackshark v2 Pro not working under Windows 11

Hi all

I’m currently facing a strange issue where my Razer BlackShark V2 Pro (2020) isn’t working at all, when I’m using it with my Razer Blade 15 running windows 11. On my company laptop running Windows 10 everything works fine.

On the Razer Blade, when I start any audio playback, the best that happens is jerky audio. Playing a Youtube video also isn’t possible. It jerks a few times until Youtube displays an error message “Error during audio playback. Please restart your computer.” Windows Test sounds are also only prompting error messages. Spotify isn’t playing anything, but also not showing any error message.

When I choose another audio device (e.g. integrated speakers or USB speaker) everything works fine, even without a restart. Needless to stay, that a restart didn’t fix the issue yet.

I already tried to reinstall the driver under windows devices, updated the firmware, tried uninstalling Synapse software (which was never running on the company windows). Even without installed Synapse, the issue persisted.

Does anybody have a clue on how to fix this issue? Is this related to the recent updates?

I’m running following versions:

  • Razer Synapse: 3.8.1031.110912 (latest)
  • Headset Firmware: 1.00.13 (latest)
  • Adapter Firmware: 1.00.13 (latest)

One quick update: I also followed the steps regarding re-installing Razer Synapse, which didn’t improve the situation at all.

I got this issue fixed by going back to a Windows recovery point from last week. Firmware and Synapse Version stayed the same though. So I don’t exactly know what caused or fixed the issue.

Another update: it seems hat some Realtek audio drivers are conflicting with the headset drivers. They are delivered via Windows update. Rebooting after these drivers are installed results in same behaviour as before. Unfortunately I don’t have no recovery point to go back to, which doesn’T have these drivers installed. Also I didn’t find a method of downgrading or removing the drivers and keeping the Headset or internal speakers working.

Hopefully my last update on this topic. Today I discovered, that also the internal speakers of the Razer Blade are affected. Fortunately, while checking the Synapse version again, Synapse prompted for an update to be installed.

After that everything worked fine again. Even after a couple of reboots. At least for now.
