Just bought the V2 Pros. So far they are like the wired ones. One thing I have found is that Mic Monitoring ( sidetone ) doesn’t seem to work.
I’ve checked across the internet and Uninstalled the synapse app and checked for software updates. Everything is up to date and in settings it is all selected. But still have no sidetone.
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

G’day mate,
Unfortunately, this has been an issue since launch of V2 wireless, Razr will give you the usual troubleshooting of updating your driver, updating your firmware, changing volume in synapse software ect, but I can assure you this will not fix your issue.
There are lots of forums on reddit of people complaining about this but Razr has done nothing to remediate the issue.
The truth as I see it?
Sidetone was an afterthought on this model, likely cannot be fixed by software(although I’m not really sure). I believe Razr knows about this issue but is refusing to fix it as the audience for usage of sidetone is too small for them to care. They advertise sidetone as a feature of this product, but what they have in place is completely unusable. It is very disappointing to see this behavior as I returned to a Razr product after 10 years only to find this being a issue and turned me off their products again.
If someone from Razr is going to respond to this, please don’t give us the usually scripted troubleshooting , you know is not going to work. I have tested this across multiple devices and headphones and I can assure you this is not a user specific issue but affects the entire product line of the v2 wireless model(wired version seems to be better).
It would be great to get confirmation from a Razr representative that this is actually an issue and not give the usual troubleshoot response that I have seen 100 times and has fixed no-one I repeat no-ones issue.
Please Razr take this opportunity to be honest with your customers, you messed up with this product? That’s okay, just don’t waste all of our time pretending it works when it really doesn’t. In particular do not advertise it as a feature.
Just to clarify the issue I am referreing to is sidetone volume and clarity is so low, even after troubleshooting and all of the recommended fixes that the only way to properly hear yourself is basically with the microphone in your mouth.
Please please please Razr, restore my trust in you and respond to this with a genuine plan to help your users because It’s just not good enough. I personally won't be buying another product of yours until I see you actual care about your customers and not lie to them about features of your products.
Honestly Razr, you could have the best products in the world, but you aren’t going to earn your customers trust with behavior like this.
Below are some links from people who have the same complaint but have had no resolution from you even with the steps you have provided. This has been going on for YEARS, Some of these are with your own forums. One user reported some success with an RMA( I think this user was likely just given the 2023 model), If that is the case, recall the dam line, this affects all models currently being sold:
One clarification note, the model I’m referencing is the 2022 blacksharkv2, theres seems to be some improvement on the new 2023 model. Just because there is a new model doesn’t mean you dont have to do right buy your existing customers. This model is still being sold and advertises sidetone as a feature.
I keenly await your acknowledgement and response, I hope it doesn't take as long as the 9 days this person has already been waiting for a response from you.
Thank you for the advise and letting me know.
I found a semi-fix for the issue. Like everyone else, I noticed that the side tone worked when the dial on the headset is turned all the way up. This also blasts all other sounds at you. I cranked the dial all the way up then I turned the sound down manually with the Windows sound icon. This kept the side tone up but the sound from blowing out my eardrums.
Not the best fix but seems to be working at the moment.
@sskz31462 @DaBarks @geoparkTurquoise472 You might had 100% mic volume and when you set side tone also as 100 it worked.
I just bought a BlackShark V2 Pro (2023) version and here is a workaround that I found.
IT WORKS WHEN:
First, set (mic and sidetone) at the same level example: the picture below You will notice that the sidetone will work
Then you can re-adjust the mic level to your preferred level Notice that it leaves the sidetone level where you set, then you are all set.
You can even toggle sidetone on and off and the set up retains.
I am not a sidetone guy and I’m turning this off anyway. I just thought to share it here anyway. I hope this helps.
Hey I may have found a potential fix. When I was trying to figure it out, I set mic volume and sidetone volume to 100% And then in a bit of frustration I took the side tone slider and then just kept sliding it and stopping at different numbers (it didnt matter what number it was set to) and after doing that a couple times I heard the side tone pop through my mic and into my speakers and then disappear. After doing it a couple more times the side tone activated and when I set it to 100% it is working just fine now and is adjustable. Ive had the headset for approximately 2 hours at this point so it may fail but this is the current work around I have just discovered and I hope it works well for you guys as well!

Does the sidetone on the Pro (2023) still sound really tinny and overly bass-boosted? Had that problem with my pair so I returned them.
Hi folks,
Really anoying …
Just bought a V2 Pro (2023) to benefit from improvements from my former 2020 model, and have also the sidetone issue on new newer model too.
Tried again during ours usual stuff (app remove+reinstall, firmware updates), and the above “trick” (mic+sidetone level at 100% or other same level), but still not working. In fact it worked yesterday and then nothing today …
I may try during some more ours today then I’ll return it to BestBuy … and bye bye Razer for headphones … That’s very sad because I loved the Pro 2020 model and play hours with it …
Cheers bros, Lebow.
Hey everyone,
ok after many annyoing hours of trying to get sideton I found the Problem. When you activate Sideton in Synapse, its not working directly. It starts to work when you open an application which is using your microphone. When I enter a discord room I can hear my self with sideton. When I close discord, side tone is off.
As someone who has been using Razer products for years, I am disappointed with the brand despite being a long-time fan. I initially enabled sidetone, and it worked. However, one day it suddenly stopped functioning. As a software developer, I find this product to be quite frustrating.
When you click on the mic preview and adjust the mic volume level to 0, you can still hear your own sound. Mic monitoring only works when the microphone is in use; otherwise, it does not function at all.
