Razer Blackshark V2 X - 7.1 surround sound not working.

I’ve just recently purchased Razer Blackshark V2 X, and apparently the 7.1 function does not want to work. It properly appears in audio settings, everything is displayed as it should by guides and videos, but there is literally no difference when testing the sound. It still sounds like it’s on stereo mode. All my audio drivers are updated and I even tried deinstalling Realtek HD Audio Drivers and manager to test it. There seems to be no way to get the 7.1 surround working.

Apparently when looking around in sound manager settings I found that 7.1 surround driver had a problem starting:

Device ROOT\RZSurround\0001 had a problem starting.

Driver Name: oem60.inf
Class Guid: {4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
Service: sRZVAD
Lower Filters:
Upper Filters:
Problem: 0x15
Problem Status: 0xC00000BB

Device install event:

Device ROOT\RZSurround\0001 requires further installation.

When I tested it in-game (Garry’s Mod has 7.1 functionality), I could strongly notice how when people talked in front of me I could hear audio from both sides, if they were talking on the side then only that side, but when they were behind me the audio cut up completely.

I could not get any audio through the headset when using 7.1, it would just give me some popping or nothing at all. After trying just about everything I finally changed the System setting for the output audio format down to 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality) and then it started working with the 7.1 surround sound on.

Find this under “system settings” - System > Sound > Properties.

Hope this helps if anyone finds this to be a problem for them. :)

Hello, did you managed to fix the issue? I have the same problem.

After trying just about everything I finally changed the System setting for the output audio format down to 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality) and then it started working with the 7.1 surround sound on. Find this under "system settings" - System > Sound > Properties. If you are on windows 11 you will find what you need under advanced options in the sounds tab ok! GOOD LUCK!

RAZER should be sending me free products! They have not solved this problem for anyone! I am seeking out all these to help people!

Hi, I have tried allllll of this advice and still the surround sound 7.1 does. Not. WORK.
I bought the Razer Blackshark V2 and it arrived yesterday, I spent almost an hour trying to set up the mic and now this special surround sound is driving me nuts.

I followed every tutorial, I checked that the surround sound 7.1 drivers were installed (they are now installed) I have changed my playback to the 7.1 speakers, I have changed my sound output to the 7.1 speakers too and It just wont work. I give up lol, i’ve fiddled and changed every bit of my laptop to make it work and it just won’t, so unless there’s some miracle fix (yes i already tried changed the bit quality, nothing) I will just live with the already great audio quality LOL

It probably is a software conflict of some sort. U have tested it in both my Desktop and laptop and it didn't work on either. I also tried the headset on a friend desktop and it workedon the first time. A couple months later it didn't work anymore. The only workaround I am using is having the device audio improvements checkbox, in properties, checked. But it sounds very metallic that way.
