I’m having a microphone quality issue with my Razer BlackShark V3 Pro after updating the firmware to v1.3.3_r1.
Before the firmware update, the microphone sounded excellent. It had a deep, warm, full and broadcast/radio-like sound, with noticeably more body and bass. I did not configure anything in Razer Synapse at that time. I simply used the headset with its original/default settings, and the microphone sounded much better to me.
The reason I updated the firmware was because I had another problem before the update: the microphone sometimes cut off the beginning or end of words, which seemed similar to a voice-gate/threshold issue. However, the actual microphone tone and quality were very good before updating.
After updating to v1.3.3_r1, the microphone still works, but its sound has changed noticeably. It now sounds less deep, less warm, less full and less “broadcast-like”, and I feel that some of the low-end/body that was present before the update is gone.
I have already tried:
Broadcast microphone EQ
Mic Enhancement ON and OFF
Voice Gate settings
Mic Volume at 100
Ultra-Low Latency
Different EQ adjustments
2.4 GHz wireless dongle
USB wired connection
The microphone sounds essentially the same after switching between the dongle and wired connection, so I don't think the issue is limited to the wireless connection.
I also want to clarify that I am not using Bluetooth. My main use is the 2.4 GHz dongle.
Could you please confirm:
Did firmware v1.3.3_r1 change the microphone's audio processing, EQ, gain, compression, or other microphone processing compared with the previous firmware?
Is the loss of bass/depth in the microphone a known issue with this firmware?
Is there an official recommended Synapse configuration to restore the original warm/deep broadcast sound?
If the firmware changed the microphone processing, is there an official way to return to the previous firmware?
Are you planning another firmware update to address microphone quality or voice-gate issues?
I really liked the microphone sound before the firmware update, so I would like to restore that original sound if possible without risking the headset.
I can provide the headset serial number, firmware information, recordings, or any other information needed for investigation.
