Razer BlackShark V3 X HyperSpeed - Volume Wheel erratic/jumping after Cold Boot

Hi everyone,

I've been using this headset for less than a month, and I am facing a recurring issue with the USB Dongle initialization. It is important to note that this behavior has been present since day one, right out of the box.

I spent the last few weeks trying to troubleshoot this myself using software solutions found on forums (I have never tampered with the hardware), but nothing has permanently fixed it.

The Issue: When I turn on my PC after it has been completely powered off (power strip off), the Volume Wheel behaves erratically.

  • Instead of changing volume smoothly, it jumps random amounts or fights against my input.

  • Sometimes it doesn't register inputs at all, or it lags significantly.

  • It feels like the scroll encoder is glitching or 'skipping' steps.

Troubleshooting steps I have already taken:

  1. Clean Reinstall of Razer Synapse (tested with and without it).

  2. Updated the Dongle Firmware to the latest version.

  3. Enabled ErP Mode in BIOS (to ensure a clean power cut).

The Result: Before enabling ErP, I always had to physically unplug and replug the dongle to fix it. Now with ErP enabled, it happens less often, but the erratic behavior still persists randomly on cold boots.

Since this is a brand new unit (<1 month old), does this indicate a defective rotary encoder? Should I proceed with an RMA immediately?
