Razer Blackwidow V4 Pro Key Not working

The D key on my keyboard rarely is detecting input. Maybe 1 every 50 attempts.

I have tried

  • cleaning it with compressed air
  • removed the key, no debris found
  • updating all drivers
  • plugging the keyboard into another pc

Any advice or ideas on how to fix this? The keyboard is only a few months old.

I am having the same issue. but with then E and D key. E key works about every fifth press and the D either double typing or not responding. and multiple keys will double or triple press. Brand new out of the box

I have submitted mine to be replaced, I couldn’t figure out the issue with my troubleshooting.

Yea I’ve been having the same issue for weeks and support just keeps dragging it out and refusing to begin my RMA.

@rudeoff I am having the same experience. I submitted my request on February 2nd, now it’s been 3 weeks and I have just had my case ‘escalated’.

I mailed in my keyboard for replacement and they have been sending me back the SAME tracking number that I sent them saying the replacement is on the way. The tracker shows it’s clearly me mailing it to them and has been in the delivered state for over 2 weeks!

Now I have had my case escalated with the note ‘best handled by a specialized team equipped to provide you with the assistance you need’

How is this so hard for them to just send a replacement?

Same thing is going on with me, my keyboard has been double typing after like a week of getting it, now the D key has a chance of not working at all, double typing, or somehow, both.

Swear gotta be a thing with this keyboard.

(edit, you can fix double type by lowering polling rate)

Same here - only the d button. However, when I don’t hold down the button, it occasionally register 2 d’s at the first press, then continues to not register subsequent presses.

Yeah my space key, f and t key rarely works on my Blackwidow V4 X, i usually have to press it at least twice for it to work

Same here, first it was my y key and now the b key. First few presses won’t get anything and then it double presses. Also pretty new as of maybe 2 months ago.

Well I may as well join the club.  Purchased the Blackwidow v4 Pro on 3-18-24.  Arrived at my house 3-21-24.  Hooked up on 3-25-24.  Key spamming/missing key presses started 4-8-24.  Best Buy wont do anything as it is outside of the return window.  Razer support is awful at best.  So I am stuck with a $244.55 paperweight.

**Edit is should be noted I have tried cleaning the keyboard, lowering the polling rate, uninstall/reinstall Synapse, updating firmware, and checking Windows updates.  None of them fixed the issue.

At this point I am beyond frustrated.  Judging by the amount of posts here, Amazon, Best Buy, etc, I believe we may have enough people affected to take legal action.  If you are interested, please reach out to razerclassaction@gmail.com

Ok so this isn’t a permanent fix but the only thing i found to work many of my keys have become unresponsive and it’s very frustrating where i’ll be spamming my W to move forward it will nudge and then not work for the next 40 clicks

My solution : I use isopropyl alcohol on a piece of tissue soak it i wouldn’t leave it dripping but enough to where when you squeeze it will drip when needed and for the key that isn’t responding or is stuttering(responding in and out) pull up the key cap with a key cap puller or 2 paper clips if you don’t have one and drip some isopropyl in the key sensor and click it a few times and let it dry out you should see a immediate fix but it may become a issue later also i cannot stress this enough please try to use a high % isopropyl with less water cause you don’t wanna put tons of water on your keyboard that’s also why you drip it and don’t pour the bottle on there hope this helps

I honestly believe this keyboard just might be a lil wonky it’s the only keyboard i’ve seen act up with unresponsive keys this much

ohh and by issue i mean it just may become unresponsive again nothing serious at least for me but that’s the only way i continue to game with the keyboard and all my keys are currently working fixed at least 10

Same issues here with Blackwidow v4 pro

The first blackwidow v4 i got, the keys W and S caused issues. Often I pressed the key and nothing happened, sometimes it puts out 2 W's or S's when typing.

I was in a fortunate position that I got a brand new Blackwidow v4 pro. Worked fine for ~4 weeks and now the S button on this also i causing issues.

Searching the internet i see ALOT of people having the same issue

I have just started having the issue with my USB lead, my Blackwidow v4 Pro now has decide not to function with the supplied USC C lead, All it will do is flicker with the lights in one colour. I know that all USB c cables are not constructed the same. I am just wondering if Razer sell the USB Cable of my Blackwidow V4 Pro, or will I have to have the cable or keyboard RMA’d?

I am having a similar issue with my D key. About once every 5-10 presses it does not register the input. I’ve only had the keyboard (razer blackwidow v4 pro) for a few months.
I’ve tried cleaning with compressed air, I have the newest firmware/drivers, and I’ve visually inspected by popping the key off and I don’t see any damage.
