Hi all,
Recently booted up my RB 13” 2020 and it woke up like usual. However, after a few minutes, it suddenly shut off while idling with a full battery charge. I noticed a small burning smell near the right-side USB-c port. I waited until the smell was gone before troubleshooting. I proceeded with my own troubleshooting since my RB is well beyond its warranty period.
I next tried all the troubleshooting seen in other threads and in Razer support, such as making sure the laptop charger is working properly, holding down the power button for 10 secs or until flash with charger, unplugging the battery to discharge the capacitors (by holding the power button). None of these solutions helped. Some sites suggest that it could be the RAM, but I noticed that the RAM sticks are soldered to the board and is pretty inaccessible in this model. Also didn’t notice any obvious damage in the area where I originally smelled the burning smell. Only other thing I can think of is to let it rest, pray, and hope for the best. But I’m already expecting the worst conclusion for this laptop at this point.
Now, all I get is the flashing white power indicator light when I hold the power button for at least 10 secs.
Any other things I can try troubleshooting?
