Razer Blade 14 (2022) overheating when plugged in

I just starting having an issue with the laptop overheating and shutting down, but only when plugged in. CPU temps go from low 60’s to over 90 within a few minutes.  This happens even while at idle. It’s not overclocked and running in balanced mode.  It will also overheat in efficiency mode. GPU temps are fine.

This doesn’t happen when it is running on battery. I also have two OEM chargers and it does the same thing on both.

Is there any ideas on why it being plugged in could cause this issue?  Could it be the charge port itself, software setting or???

Thank you

Hey @Cowtown,

Let me assist you with your laptop. Can you check that your Windows OS is up to date by following the steps from this link? Please also send me a PM with the serial number so I can verify it in our system and check for troubleshooting steps that might address the thermal issue you're currently experiencing.

The serial number is BY2344M93000926

I’ll also note that I have two OEM chargers and it hasn’t changed the result.

Thanks for looking into this for me.

Oh, and OS is up to date.

Hi @Cowtown,

Thanks for sharing th details and serial number. For security reasons, I would suggest removing the serial number from your post. I’m going to forward your case to our Technical Team so they can further check on the issue. Please send me a PM with a photo of your receipt/invoice so I can attach it to your case. You can upload it to any hosting service like Google Drive and provide a shareable link. Just check the file so that anyone with the link can view it.
