I have a Razer Blade 17 with a 3080ti and i7 12800h. I get low GPU utilisation on all my games even after following Razer’s website advice. Please help me solve this issue.
I have the same problem. Display out from the USB-C ports have stopped working, and nothing I connect to them are responsive. This morning display was working, but I took my laptop off of my docking station and later when I went back to my desk neither port will respond.
Hi guys!
Please PM me the serial number of your Razer Blade laptops so I can validate their models and escalate your concern to the systems team for us to investigate the issue and provide the best resolution for the community. Thank you!
update: it fixed itself after a couple of days… can’t say I did anything different nor updated anything
I decided to reinstall Windows and that worked. But then Bitlocker kicked in and I had a hell of a time getting everything back to where it was. Now I’m trying to get into my old files, which are still on the hard drive, but only accessible if I use the search function to find them ♂️
I have the same issue. 2 x Uperfect monitors running off the USB C ports for 2 years without issue; yesterday one of them stopped working, power kept turning off and on to it and it kept making the connect/disconnect sound. Then this morning, the second one just receives no power. If I plug my phone in to the USB C port instead of the monitor, laptop recognizes it and charges it. Seems this is a power delivery issue from the USB C ports….need a fix ASAP.
Hi everyone,
I have the same problem that suddenly my left USB C port is not working anymore. Tried several troubleshooting already, still not working so far. It is not charging nor detecting devices.
Hopefully, there is a fix soon or self-healing as the author stated.
Device:
Razer Blade 14 2022 - Mercury Edition
3070Ti
AMD Ryzen 6900HX
Same issue here after upgrading to official USB4 Firmware.
Monitor and Ethernet do NOT work on both USB-C ports. Harddisks / USB-Stick do work via USB-C. I need these functions!!
Device:
Razer Blade 14 2022
3070Ti
AMD Ryzen 6900HX
same thing been happening to me off and on for months now.
i use external sandisk SDDs to game off of - usually work great. but they connect through the USB-c ports and for unknown reasons, only every now and then, my blade-14 will recognize the drive, then disconnect it. then re-recognize it, and then disconnect it again. every few seconds.
What’s real frustrating is sometimes it will work for like 20 minutes then right as i’m about to line up that headshot or take that leap in the game, it disconnects and the game stops.
then the icing on the cake -- if it starts cycling this disconnect/reconnect and i don’t immediately unplug the drive to stop it, then the next restart of the laptop sits on the “restarting” screen FOR EVER and never goes anywhere, so i have to use the power button to do a hard shutdown.
anybody experiencing this? anybody know of a fix?
Hi guys,
Just FYI: I tried to contact support - but they are not interested to help. They dont read messages, they only can ask again for contact details and want to know whats the problem. If you you answer, they will ask again the same in the nexr mail. Really really sad.
Have someone from you solved the problem?

Anybody getting anywhere with this? One of my monitors started working again but I recently traveled and disconnected, upon reconnecting...same problem….10 days in and it has still not fixed itself. This functionality is critical to me, if no fix soon I will need to look for an alternative solution, and it will not be Razer.
I Have been having this issue too. Its strange when i plug in my dock my mouse disappears and everything freezes on my laptop screen, if i do anything like alt+ctrl+del nothing happens until i unplug and then everything happens like it was buffering
After reinstalling Windows from scratch, issue is resolved for me. All displays, networkcard and USB devices are recognized via my USB4 Dock.
As Recovery Image did not work for me (copying files stucked always at 1%) I tried to do it with basic Windows 11 Home version (you can download it regulary from microsoft). Be sure to have network drivers ready, as you will not have any internet after installation due to missing drivers.
Also you have to bypass online user creation by microsoft while installing windows 11 - as they force you to use it and you can’t click next without internet connection. You should google for that, as I don’t know, if it is allowd here to show you, how it works.
Unfortunately the support did not really help , I had to find out everything by myself … but at least everything works now again as expected.
Same here. I do have issues with my Razer 14 since day 1. Ports are not working, mousepad is not working properly, its slower than my Blade 15 2018. But after recovering the system the issues are gone for a while. Working on it and installing some software, the issue are coming back again. Razer is not trying to help me on this at all. They just recovering the system and telling me the advice is working perfectly. Anyone with the same issue? I feel lost, 3000€ for just nothing.. Its definitely my last Razer advice...
I have a 2021 Razer Blade 14 3080 and I am having constantly disconnects with my SanDisk 4TB Pro-G40 external hard drive. I have also been having issues with the USB-C ports and thunderbolt adapters as well. This is quite frustrating and not acceptable for such an expensive system.
How can we escalate this further?
I figured out how to solve the problem without reinstalling Windows. I ran into it today. Most likely it occurs after charging via Type-C. Solution:
- Run the command as administrator: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth;
- Run the command as administrator: sfc /scannow;
- Reboot;
- After loading and logging in, hold down the power button until the led flashes white.
My laptop: Razer blade 14 2022 with rtx 3070 ti.

Hey thanks man!! this worked! Gracias!
THANK YOU anatolkabasurman!!!
You saved me at least day of frustration with Razor’s (fake) support and a Windows re-installation!

You are a legend! I ran into this issue today on my Razer15, did the steps and my Dell Dock WD19 started working again!

I’m having the same issue (left USB-C not working at all) but this didn’t fix it. Also, when updating the firmware by running the “Razer Blade 14 Updater”, it indicates “PD2 update in progress” and it always gets stuck at about 95% of the progress bar, in case it might have any relation at all.
I might be having a very specific problem, but in case someone else has seen these things happen before and found a workaround, I’d be super happy to hear from it.

For anyone who is coming from google, found an even faster way:
- Open Razer Synapse
- Go to System → Display
- Scroll to “GPU MODE” and switch the options, no matter what you had before.
- (if NVIDIA Optimus, switch to Dedicated only)
- (if Dedicated only, switch to NVIDIA Optimus)
- Reboot as asked from Synapse.
- You need your Bitlocker Recovery Key at this point if enabled!
- Test if USB-C external Monitor/Dock is working again.
- you can change back “GPU MODE” Setting to your desired one. (Bitlocker Key needed again)
- Have fun with your Dock/Monitors again!
i think this setting resets something thats configured wrong at some point.
Windows 11 / Razer Blade 14 2023
I am also experiencing the USB-C issues on my Blade 14 (2022), which is not even 1 year old - time of purchase December 2023
It happened to already after a month of use, I think I recall fixing it by following the advice mentioned by anatolkabasurman (not 100% sure of it though…).
As the issue happened again today, I tried again but it did not work.
Symptoms : left USB-C port not responsive at all (does not even detect any charging device, if a USB-C charger is plugged into it).
Right USB-C port reacts to USB-C charging, it is also responsive when I connect it to a USB hub (I have 2 external SSD's connected onto that hub), but it does not react if I connect an HDMI cable on the hub (it used to, before).
I also have another Dell USB-C dock with external power, which was working fine with he Blade till yesterday, now it seems to charge the Blade when I connect it, but it does not help either with the video output (HDMI cable connected betwene the dock and the monitor --> no display shows up) and when my external HDD's are connected to it, the Blade does not detect them. I ahve a Dell laptop for work, and the dock and HDD's work fine with that one.
Obviously, my firmware is up to date. I also updated Synapse to V4 this morning, as I found out I was still using V3, and I also completely wiped the NVIDIA software from my computer, before doing a lean install again. But nothing seems to change.
Shall I do a kind of restore to a setup like, 24 hours ago, when everything was working OK ?
Razer Blade 14 2022, 6900HX, 3080TI
Edit : I solved the problem by changing the “enable USB charging” setting to “auto mode” in the BIOS. For some reason it was set to “NO”. It sorted out all the display and other connectivity issues on both USB-C ports. I hope that helps
