Hi everyone,
About a month ago, my Razer Blade 14 (purchased in January 2023) suddenly shut down with a loud pop and a significant amount of smoke pouring out from the bottom of the laptop.
When I opened it a couple of days later, I discovered the battery had swollen massively. The rest of the components looked intact, so I replaced the battery with a new one — but the laptop still won’t power on at all.
This has me very concerned for two reasons:
-
Safety: If I had been using it on my lap at the time, the smoke and potential fire could have caused serious injury.
-
Durability: It seems highly unusual (and worrying) for a laptop battery to fail this catastrophically in less than three years.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is there any chance Razer can investigate or provide guidance here?
Thanks in advance — this was a very alarming experience, and I’d really like to understand what went wrong.
