I have a 2023 Razer Blade 14” with the 7940HS and the 4070, I have upgraded the RAM to 64GB, and it has ran smoothly for the last year. I recently had the itch to try Linux. So, I installed Ubuntu just fine and it ran great for a few months. I needed to reinstall windows for work (unfortunately) and used the recovery stick to do so. However, the install process took much longer than expected, but didn’t initially think anything of it. Windows installs and none of the devices are recognized, can’t update anything and firmware is completely unrecognized by Windows.
I’ve managed to get all the drivers installed after multiple attempts, however the computer runs so slow that it is completely unusable at this point. None of the hardware seems to be malfunctioning, and is all recognized now. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why it is running so slow. I have attempted to reflash the BIOS with 2.0 with the rom supplied by Razer, and everything seems fine until it goes to erase the BIOS flash. This kicks an unable to erase error and I’m back to square one. My gut tells me that either the BIOS chip or the BIOS flash memory are failing. Any help would be welcome. I’m unfortunately not under warranty anymore and would prefer to fix this by myself if possible, but if I need to I would send it in for fixing.
