Razer Blade 14 Right USB C Port Low Bandwidth and No DP | Razer Insider

Hi Everyone,

Been using my Blade 14 for some time now, and am just now realizing something, it would seem my right side USB C port is malfunctioning to some degree, not really sure if Razer is to blame or if it might be an issue with AMD and their drivers or something.

So, both my Samsung T5 and Samsung T7 SSDs will not operate at full speed on the right side USB C port under any circumstances, they get stuck around 50MB/s when they should be closer to 500MB/s or more. Some other external SSDs don't have this issue, such as my 970 Evo Plus which is inside a custom SSD enclosure.

I thought at first this might be specific with the T5 SSDs and stuff. But I now just noticed that my DP output won't work from USB C to DP on the right side port either, that only works on the left side one.

Anyone seen similar behavior with the USB C ports on this machine? I've seen reports of other odd USB C issues with AMD chipsets so they might be the culprit but I'm not sure.
Update: so it is definitely still a bandwidth issue with that port, I was wrong when I thought DP output wasn't working, it works through it but ONLY at 60HZ (on a 3840 x 1600 monitor), it doesn't work at anything higher which means it's bandwidth is being limited for some reason.

I also wanted to note that is the primary port I have used for docking and charging in the past, wondering if maybe something is causing an issue with it because of that? It shouldn't but just a thought.

I don't think this is big enough of a problem for me to want to warranty this unit, especially since I don't think that'll fix it, but it's still very frustrating.
