Razer Blade 15 2018 Webcam Issue | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
I have a Razer Blade 15 2018 Advanced model with the webcam not working and logo not lighting up. I am assuming they are a result of some manufacturer hardware defect among most Razer Blade 15 2018 models, as shown by the numerous posts of this same issue online. The warranty for this laptop has expired, so I cannot contact Razer directly about this issue and I have not been able to find a solution to these problems.

Any help on this matter is appreciated.
I am also having the same issue. It started happening awhile ago and have not been able to get anything to work. Many people are having the same problem.
I hope one day Razer can come forward and sort this issue out once and for all for all users of this laptop.

In the meantime, all we can do is wait for a PM from Razer support...
I'm also having the same issue. I just purchased my Razer Blade 15 less than six months ago. I had similar webcam issues on the previous unit I was replacing too. I had no idea it was such a common problem! super frustrating especially now that everything is virtual because of covid.
I'm facing the same issue. Also Razer logo is not lighting up. On 2/21/21 i called tech support and they said the two are related. I've deleted and re-download synapse, rebotted the computer with and without back up. There is simply no camera driver at all. The laptop is practically new and I have hardly even used it untill just recently, as it is one of several devices I have. I can't justify sending it in to for repairs when there is no logical reason other than a software / manufacture defect.

Also out of manufactures warranty. 😕. My laptop is a 2018 Raze Blade 15 Anvanced that I received as my graduation gift in march 2019. I am just now getting around to any type of use on this computer, stickers and all are still on the computer. I am a little disappointed with this random issue. Tech supports says that I need to pay a $99 shipping and diagnostic fee. The kind lady I spoke to offered 20% off the unknown cost of repairs, but I still don't think that is enough with this issue being so common. I actually just ordered several other razer products and I'm wondering if I should even bother. Love the company, hope I can get some help here.
