This morning I updated windows and after restating I would see the razer logo and then the screen would just go black and never boot into windows. I ended up factory restoring the laptop through the recovery option, however I am scared to download the latest updates for windows. Any thoughts?

Hi - I have been dealing with on my Studio Edition 19 model for most of this year and sick of reinstalling. Huge waste of time and I just had the battery bulge and was smart enough to remove the battery before damaged the case and mouse pad.
You may have a new BIOS in the other forum "SYSTEMS" which might help. I am not sure if this issue is fully windows updates or Nvidia DCH and Hardware scheduling.
One of these items has been causing terror and its always when I need to do work or games, basically anything important I turn it on to a black screen.
I have tried DISM removal of nvidia drivers, changed the windows HIVE registry from a repair boot, turned off hardware scheduling, nothing worked.
I then did a chkdsk and it always finds some issues and repairs.

@Scaabs
Are you having any issues after reverting to the factory settings? I highly recommend that you stay off Windows version 2004 and NVIDIA's GPU version 456.55 for now. PM me should you need further assistance.
@1WayJonny
The problems you are encountering may be hardware related. Please send me your Application and System logs from Windows Event Viewer. That way, I can help you further isolate the cause of the issues.
