Razer Blade 15 (2021) RTX 30xx VR Compatibility

Hi,

Recently looking into getting a 'mobile' VR setup due to my frequently travelling for work, though unfortunately my existing VR headset requires a DisplayPort or Mini-DisplayPort in order to function (it does not have HDMI hookups).

The Blade 15 2021 models look really attractive from a price-to-power standpoint, but I was a bit dismayed to see that the Mini-DP was removed from the newer model(s)... which brings me to my question:

Does anyone know if the Blade 15's USB-C with Thunderbolt 3 is connected to the discrete Nvidia GPU's output? If so, has anyone tried using the 2021 Blade 15 for VR (and if so, did it work/what headset were you using)?

Thanks,

Just did a test with my oculus rift s. You will need an adapter from USB-C to display port but when plugged into the Thunderbolt 3 connector and running elite dangerous my task manager shows the load being placed on the Nvidia GPU. Nvidia control shows the port as being integrated only but the game ran well and the integrated GPU shows 0% usage while the 3070 shows around 40% under game load. I'd sat you are good to go.

Awesome, thank you for the response. Any chance you could take a screenshot of the Nvidia Control Panel? Specifically the "Set PhysX Configuration" page under 3D Settings? That page should show the physical connectors that are routed to the GPU (like the HDMI2K in this image: https://i.gyazo.com/bd4bfa3dff062af4ee5c94611fe824b8.png ).

If the PhysX page shows USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 then that would pretty much seal the deal on my getting a Blade 15 with an RTX 3070.
Hey @Letter13 did you get anywhere with this, looking at picking up a Rift S to use with my 2020 stealth 13" but only have the thunderbolt USB-C like you. Wondering ig you could give me an update if it worked out for you or not.

Thanks.

Haven't actually wound up picking up a Blade. I don't think a Stealth 13" would work with a VR rig, I imagine you need a rig with an actual dedicated GPU (which I believe the Stealth does not have).
