Razer blade 15 2022 - Issue with Laptop LED Lighting - Blue Color Not Working

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with my laptop where the blue color of the LED for the "L" letter is not functioning, leaving only the red and green colors operational. This affects the overall color combinations displayed. The laptop was purchased in 2022 and is now out of warranty.

Steps I've taken:

  • Updated Windows (including optional updates).
  • Updated the BIOS.

Despite these updates, the problem persists, leading me to suspect a hardware issue or an undetectable driver problem.

Questions:

  1. How can I confirm this is a hardware issue?
  2. If confirmed, is it possible to purchase a replacement for the specific LED component?

Any guidance on resolving this issue or advice on next steps would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Bocciack!

I’m facing with exactly the same issue as you are but I have 2 LEDs that lost blue color. I’m pretty sure it is a common hardware problem as there are a lot of people with the same problem.

You already confirmed that it is a hardware issue since red and green colors are displayed.

What concerns replacement LED itself is really tiny, near 1x1mm so unless you own a hot air soldering station and really good with it probably it will end in a disaster. You can buy full keyboard assembly but as you might imagine it costs a lot.
