Hey guys, looking for advice.
I have had my 2019 Blade 15 Advanced (rtx2070 max q, Intel i7 9750h) for just 2 years. I don’t game often and mostly use the laptop for school, work and web browsing.
I recently noticed my laptop has started to overheat even under no significant load (monitoring with HWMonitor after it started freezing and requiring hard shutdown). The CPU/GPU both go up to 90c+ shortly after booting with nothing running, monitoring task manager and both CPU and GPU utilization is under 10%. I took the laptop open and the battery was also swollen.
so far I have:
1. Replaced swollen battery
2. Cleaned out all dust / fans / cooling and repasted CPU/GPU
3. Updated bios / firmware and clean windows install.
4. Edit* I’ve also gone through all drivers to ensure they’re up to date.
5. Edit* I also used a voltometer on the laptop power supply and it is outputting 19.5v as it says it should.
6. Edit* I’ve also ran scans with Malwarebytes and nothing to report.
Issue still persists.. I’m extremely disappointed as I thought this would be a reliable laptop for how expensive it was, and it’s only really seen light use. I’m just out of warranty now.. any other ideas? The last thing I can think to try is to undervolt the CPU just to make it usable for a short time and see if that helps.. also I do have the laptop sitting on a hard surface and on a cooling pad. I’ve also gone into the BIOS to check settings and noticed the overheating / freezing occurs after being in the bios for a few minutes. So it’s happening even pre OS boot. The fans appear to be working fine and the inside of laptop is clean. I’m stumped.

Hi mdowen7,
Did you already try the steps here for further isolation? May I also know where did you get the replacement battery? It's best if you can answer these questions through PM and provide the serial number of your laptop so I can validate its model and start a case for repair if necessary.
