I wanted to share a problem and fix I found with a brand new Razer Blade 15" this past week. As I was setting my new laptop up, I noticed that it would randomly yet consistently go to sleep as I was typing on it. I would then wake it up and continue typing until 5-60 seconds later when it would fall asleep again.



I will spare you the tedious research I had to do, but the culprit was my Apple Watch magnetic band. I wear my watch on my right wrist, so the magnets were in constant contact with the bottom right corner of the laptop. I'm guessing that's where the sensor to detect lid closure is, it would interpret the magnetic signal from my band as "lid is closed -- go to sleep".



I was able to reproduce this behavior on another, older Blade 15 that I had in my house.



The solution, is unfortunately, to ditch the magnetic watch band.



Just wanted to have this here for anyone who encounters this.
