I’m experiencing a serious display issue on my laptop that has progressively become worse over time.
At first, a single flickering line appeared at the very bottom of the screen. After some time, more flickering lines started appearing in the lower area of the display. Later, a horizontal band in the middle of the screen also began flickering.
Eventually, the entire lower half of the screen stopped displaying properly. Interestingly, when the screen shows bright or white content, the display becomes partially usable again and even the previously black lower area appears more normal. However, on dark backgrounds, the lower half becomes almost completely black or heavily distorted.
Recently the issue has become worse — now even on fully white or bright screens the lower half is no longer displayed correctly. If I switch back to a dark screen, the problem immediately returns.
This issue is also visible in the BIOS screen, so it does not appear to be related to Windows, drivers, or software.
Additional details:
* GPU drivers are fully updated
* Operating system is fully updated
* External monitors work perfectly without any issues
* The issue only affects the laptop’s internal display
Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this be a failing LCD panel, display cable, or another hardware issue?
