RAZER BLADE 15 has overheated and died | Razer Insider

This morning, my wife and I smelled a burning plastic smell. It had us concerned and sniffing all around the apartment. We figured out exactly what it was when I grabbed my briefcase to go to work. My laptop had burned and melted the inside of my briefcase! After cutting it out and bringing it into the office, we called it. Dead on arrival.

I have no idea what happened. Did I put it away while it was still on? Even if I did, shouldn’t it power down with the lid close? Did the battery just freak out? It's out of warranty so I'm expecting the response that I've gotten in the past from RAZER which is, and I'm paraphrasing of course, 'tough shit'. If I'm wrong, and you have some ideas to help or know of an overheating defect with this model (Which I think is pretty clear that there is, based on a lot of these support issues!) then please let me know. Otherwise, I am completely done with RAZER in every way.

I'm also learning the hard drive is RIGHT next to the battery, which means I think I am screwed in terms of any data recovery.

Talk to me RAZER. Are you replacing my laptop or am I signing up for the class action lawsuit?
