Hi,

looking for any help. My late 2019 base Blade 15 1660ti has recently started booting into hibernate or sleep mode (no idea how to tell which is which but regardless it’s an issue).

When this happens the machine will not turn the screen on and pressing mouse and keys does nothing. I can sometimes get it to boot but in order to do this I have taken the back off (out of warranty anyways so who cares) and disconnect the battery to let the system discharge then do some weird fumble in reconnecting the charger or battery in different steps to get a boot to desktop.

what have I done to try fix/diagnose?

  1. Clean install of win 11 - no change
  2. disabled sleep and hibernate in power settings - no change
  3. installed latest synapse - nothing
  4. latest nvidia drivers - nothing
  5. secure boot - nothing once again
  6. bios repair and check - nothing nothing nothing
  7. tried to disable modern sleep mode in win 11 through systemcfg - somehow this machine only supports modern sleep (s3) and not anything else?
  8. dropped screen refresh rate to 60hz from 144

at this point I’m very frustrated as anything I do seems to not work and this is evidently a manufacturer defect either from Microsoft (I deal with these in work they won’t own up), nvidia, intel or razer.

outside of what ive outlined is there any other steps to remediate? I’m not afraid to start taking bits apart since ive replaced components already so not likely it’ll get accepted back into a warranty or repair service.

if razer has any advice that FIXES the issue then I’m all ears.

I don’t want another bodge to get it to boot to desktop, that’s unacceptable. This is a laptop, I’m not going to use this with the back off for the foreseeable future, if I wanted a desktop I would’ve bought one at the time.

Hi castBubblesfirst727,

I understand you're encountering a frustrating issue where your Razer Blade 15 is unexpectedly going into hibernate or sleep mode.

To properly isolate the issue, first, please ensure that your Razer Blade laptop is not near any magnetic objects or other electronic devices. Magnetic objects trigger the Hall effect sensor on the Razer Blade laptops. This sensor’s main function is to move the display to the connected external monitor and turn off the Razer Blade’s internal display. You can find more information about this here

Additionally, please try the troubleshooting steps outlined in this article. If the issue persists after checking for magnetic interference and trying the troubleshooting steps, please send me a PM together with your device's serial number so I can further assist you and explore other potential solutions.

Thank you!
