Razer Blade 15 (Mid-2019) running without battery

Hello All, So recently when I was upgrading my SATA storage I noticed that my Razer's battery was beginning to bulge. I attribute this to playing Modern Warfare, as it's been pretty demanding on my system. I noticed also that I couldn't normally "click" my touchpad, so I removed the battery and run the laptop through its adaptor (only temporary until I get my replacement). It works fine (after reading forum posts here), but the problem is when I play Modern Warfare. I would be playing, and then all of a sudden... the entire laptop will just turn off. As in, power off, not even gradually (with a notice from Windows), just power off. I was wondering... when the GPU or CPU gets too hot, does the laptop switch power supply? Like does it go from plugged in to battery? and because I have no battery, is that what's causing the crashing/power off? Does anyone know how to fix this or have encountered this before?
