Hi Razer Support,

I need help with a BIOS update issue on my Razer Blade 16 2023.

Device details:

Model: Razer Blade 16 - RZ09-0483
System SKU:
BaseBoard Product: SO690
OS: Windows 11 Home, Build 26200
Current BIOS: Razer 2.03, 6/4/2024
Target BIOS: 2.05
Updater file used: SO690_BIOSv0205.exe

Issue:

The BIOS updater opens correctly and shows:

“BIOS current version 2.03 will update to 2.05”

I run the updater as administrator. The system reboots, but the update does not apply. After Windows starts again, msinfo32 still shows BIOS version 2.03.

Steps already tested:

  1. Verified the model and SKU in msinfo32.

  2. Confirmed BitLocker is not active:

    • Conversion Status: Fully Decrypted

    • Protection Status: Protection Off

    • Encryption Method: None

    • Key Protectors: None Found

  3. Temporarily disabled Windows Hello:

    • Face Recognition removed

    • PIN removed

    • “Only allow Windows Hello sign-in” turned Off

  4. Restarted the system.

  5. Ran the BIOS updater as administrator.

  6. Closed Razer Synapse and other apps before running the updater.

  7. Kept the AC adapter connected during the process.

  8. Temporarily disabled Memory Integrity under Core Isolation.

  9. Restarted and tried the updater again as administrator.

  10. BIOS still remains on version 2.03.

The update process takes almost no time, reboots the laptop, and returns to Windows without applying BIOS 2.05.

After testing, I restored Windows Hello and Memory Integrity.

Can you please confirm if there is a known issue with BIOS v2.05 for Razer Blade 16 2023 RZ09-0483 / SO690, or provide the correct recovery/manual BIOS update procedure?

Thank you.
