Razer Blade 16 2024 Issues (Poor Battery, Touchpad, and Thunderbolt Dock) | Razer Insider

I just bought the Max Specced out Razer Blade 16 2024 i9 28 Core, Mini-LED, Nvidia GeForce 4090, 96 GB RAM, 8GB TB Laptop and while it is a high-performance laptop I am also pretty disappointed in a number of areas and am contemplating returning the machine over them after only owning the device for 1 week. For starters the battery life is absoutely atrocious and probably one of the worst I’ve ever experienced in the mobile computing world… Seriously. I work as a Cybersecurity Engineer with over 7 years of IT Experience and basic computing functions like creating a word document, having a browser open and casual browsing and sending e-mails via Outlook gets me a Maximum of 4 hours of battery life with the OEM charger included. Second, while the touchpad is nice and large, from day one of using my touchpad I noticeable a strange delay/lag in the touchpad which worsened while on battery.  While the immediate fix was to uninstall the HID-Compliant Touch pad driver from the device manager, which did rectify the issue there is still a small remnant of the issue which other Razer Blade Models seems to have a firmware update yet the 2024 model no update available. This could be in part because of the palm rejection capabilities but this goes to my next point, the trackpad is far to large and nearly imposssible for the touchpad to not recognize your hand if you type with your wrist even slightly down. Lastly, I spent an extra 300 on a Thunderbolt Dock from Razer to get more use cases out of the newer standard ports which has a Power Delivery port of 100W, the second I connect that Thunderbolt charger, Razer software pops up saying that its charging at a lower power delivery which can degrade at the battery so im hesitant to connect it in fear that I will make the already horrible battery life worse. Seriously Razer? Why am I paying over 6K for a laptop to have this kind of issues in comparison to your competitors. I will reach out to Support as a last stand option and while I understand that with such specs eat away at the battery with casual usage I should still be able to opt for lower processing power and be able to raise it according to the need of the application and system seamlessly.

I am wondering if anyone from Razer team has reached out to you or addressed any of the issues that you are having. I have also purchased Razer Blade 16 Lamborghini Limited Edition with RTX 4090 , 32GB of RAM , Dual Mini Led Screen and 2 TB Drive. I've had this laptop for few months now and I am encountering issues with the Touchpad and poor battery life. Battery life when unplugged will only last me for few hours by doing simple tasks as working on spreashets , word documents , checking email or browsing internet. Touchpad  is almost  unusable due to mis-clicks that happen quite frequently. When I go to drag items the Touchpad will randomly register it as a double click and open items being dragged or would randomly open options.  I am not sure what the root of the problem is (software or hardware issue). I have done a lot of research online and looked at different forums and it seems like there is no solution yet.  I have updated the drivers, I  did all firmware updates, I have uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it. Nothing has changed and still have the same issues. It is unacceptable to have all these issues especially when you spend $5400 on the Laptop. This is my third Laptop that I have purchased from Razer and it is the third one that I will most likely have to get rid of or return.  I love the feel of the Laptop, build quality is amazing, and laptop feels snappy but random issues continue to occur. Unfortunately I am out of the return period so now I'll be stuck sending it for repairs and waiting for the extensive repair time or selling it for much less online. Unfortunately this might be the last strike and will never buy another Razer Laptop again.

I also just bought Razer Blade 16 2024 i9 28 Core, Mini-LED, Nvidia GeForce 4090, 64GB RAM, 4GB TB Laptop and can definetly say - worst battery life ever. That is a shame that i didnt test it during 14days after purchase in other case I would have returned it. Even without any tasks, just stand by mode with lower screen brightness - it last only 2-3 hours. My 10year old laptop still can live longer. That is horrible. Im so disapointed. Beside battery life that everything is really good for me, but battery in laptop is critical. Any advices?

I manage to solved the trackpad issue and extend the battery life.
As simple as don’t run Razer Axon.

I observe the trackpad issue when razer booting the trackpad is smooth, but when its already on desktop screen suddenly laggy and delayed, and its register random touch.

Once turn off Razer Axon, all the issues gone and trackpad performance works super well. Almost as good as macbook trackpad.

Reaching out in regards to the trackpad issues. Recently updated to the latest firmware, and trackpad issues overall persist. I do not have razer axon installed, but do run wallpaper engine. I have tried disabling wallpaper engine to little result. I have also tried disabling all razer apps for no result as well. Was wondering if anyone else had any aha moments like the poster above to get the trackpad.

That said, it seems to work without issue when my fingertips are bone dry, so I’m wondering if it’s a case of the trackpad just not dealing with mild amounts of moisture and oil well at all.
