One other nice surprise (not) is that the 2TB NVMe is really two 1TB NVMe from Solid State Storage Technology Corp which makes increasing the storage anything but trivial if your plan is to clone the factor drive. I get that it is cheaper for Razer to do this but for the cost of the machine, they could have at least put a single 2TB NVMe in there!

So I just received my Razor 16 4090 and spent hours searching for 64GB kits. The good news is I found one and ordered a kit from Kingston. The kit is part of their Fury / Impact line and is 2x32GB DDR5-5600 SODIMM. The part number is KF556S40IBK2-64 and the cost was $314.99 before taxes and shipping.
Pleased to say the Kingston memory did work and I hav had no issues with it all in use. I will say that when I first installed it, I thought it did not work because the laptop just sat there with a blank screen COMPLETELY DEAD for several minutes and up to that point, the only thing I had changed was the memory.
I thought for sure the memory upgrade was a bust - I figured due to incompatibility or ESD damage.
Just as I was about to power down the laptop, it booted. I went into the BIOS (pic attached) and not only was it showing the 64GB, but running at 5600! With two SODIMMs, it is supposed to drop down to 5200. I ran several benchmarking tests and yep, both are running at 5600.
So after the initial installation of the RAM, it was a several minute wait for the laptop to boot, subsequent booting after the installation of the RAM has been normal with no delay. I have had no issues with memory or for that matter lockups or crashes in general.
If you still have the Kingston memory, give it another shot and be prepared to initially wait for an uncomfortable period of time before your laptop boots as I doubt the Blade 18 is much different in terms of firmware (if at all) from the Blade 16.
Thank you for the response and detailed information, that’s good news! Unfortunately, I wasn’t patient enough to wait that long and also had to return the Kingston modules already. However, I’ve tried the approach with a Crucial memory kit (CT2K32G48C40S5, with only 4800 MHz), and after waiting 3-4 minutes, it did in fact boot.
Glad your RAM is working for you! To wait as long as you have to on the first boot after installation of RAM is counterintuitive for sure! I hope others that are considering an upgrade see our posts first before assuming their RAM is dead. Maybe this is something that gets fixed in a BIOS update?
Your Crucial memory runs about 14% slower than if you had 5600 Mhz installed. I doubt you would notice it in typical use, or gaming, but for me - I use my machine for ML and if I’m working on a deep neural network, during the training/fitting of it, memory speed definitely makes a difference and even 14% would make a difference in terms of time.
Unless you’re doing something esoteric - I it is negligible and the good news is that your memory will run cooler, although I suspect heat management on your Blade 18 is less of an issue for you than it is for me on my Blade 16.

The Kingston Fury memory has been working out great for me so far.
I just installed the Kingston Fury 64gb DDR5 5600 KF556S40IBK2. It dropped the speed to 5200 once laptop booted up. Both BIOS and Windows show 5200MHz. Do you all running at 5600MHz have the latest BIOS?

Hi, how did you get your Razer to read memory frequency (5600 MHz) correctly? I have a Razer Blade 16 4080 with BIOS version 2.00 and I tried 64GB RAM 5600 kits (Kingston Fury, G.Skill Ripjaws, and SK Hynix) but the laptop always reads 5200 MHz in BIOS.
I guess it is because you have Razer Blade 16 4090? What version of BIOS do you have?

I have the Razerblade 16 with 4090 and 32 ram. I ordered and installed the Crucial 2x32 DDR 5 Ram (5600) product number CT32G56C4685.
The laptop booted ok after around 4 min and showed memory speed 5600 hz with 64 GB total (my BIOS is Ver 2.0). But every once a while the PC will freez and give blue screen and reboots with no reason. This happend several time where i decided to return the original 32 GB (5600) which was and still is working fine.
The question is “ is there certian DDR5 Memory that will work and others don’t”. Crucail is a well known brand and historicaly I had no isuues with them in amy of my previous Razerblades laptops.

I have a Razer 16 4090 (2023) - Kingston Hyper 64GB fitted are Razer planning to un-nerf this ram to its full potential, dont really want to run my system on earlier bios just to unlock the full potential of my system. Bios updates are usually for good reason so dont want to expose my system.
