Here’s a more polished version of your message:

Hello, everyone!

I’m new here and need some help with my Razer Blade 16 (rz09-0483) laptop. It’s a relatively new device with a 13th-gen Intel processor, but it has started overheating. Most of the time, the CPU temperature stays around 100°C without any load.

I’ve already tried changing the thermal paste, but it didn’t make a difference. I then checked the heatsink using a thermal camera and noticed that it doesn’t spread heat properly anymore. It seems I need a new heatsink, but I’m not sure where to order one.

I’ve tried searching online, but I only found one link that is no longer active:

https://www.impactcomputers.com/index.php/products/razer-14051642-00

Any help or advice on where I can find a replacement heatsink would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I have the same POS and my heatsink also went bad - its part number is 14051603221121, S Repaste helped, but its still shuts down under load.  Thermals show hot over CPU, but cool over pipes and fins. So its clear the pipes are broken.

So far i have not found any source other than impactcomputers showing any listing for it.  I contacted them and they no longer have it. Razer support wants $3K to repair it (rip off alert), and i can pick up a new one off ebay for less than that.

If you (or anyone) find a source let me know. (and i will do likewise)  My next step is to buy heat pipes and hack it.

Same issue with Razer Blade 18(2023).

It's a shame that such an expensive product has a chronic problem and Razer doesn't provide any support. The price they charge for the heatsink is better than buying another laptop. ¬¬

I'm hoping to find the heatsink on some website. For now I have a 3.3kg paperweight.

I am also having same issue just now w/ Razer Blade 18 - I also checked repasting, temps, etc… only thing left potentially is the heatsink

I checked online - for now there are no available heatsinks - I asked razer support i hope they get back soon
In the meantime is there any way to mod/create custom cooling for the laptop?

If you have any news from Razer, please share it with us. But from what I've researched they charge USD$2000 for the service and you have to send the laptop to them. Something that's impossible for me, as I'm currently in Brazil. And USD$2000 doesn't make any sense, you can find this part on ebay or aliexpress for USD$200~500.

I'm also thinking of making an adapted heatsink... From what I've researched I need a thin copper plate and then put some Heatpipe that sells on Aliexpress. My fear is that it won't be efficient enough. Vapor chambers are usually much more efficient. And to do this using Heatpipe I would need more space and the laptop is extremely thin. The VRM might not get into that heatsink and that could be a problem. If anyone has done this and solved the problem please share it with us. I think it's unlikely to be efficient with an i9 13850hx and a 4080 or 4090.

Thanks and good luck to all of us. =/

I wrote to razer few weeks ago, didn’t received any answer. :)

Well,

I have a solution. Its not the cleanest but its cheap enough to make the most out of the situation (around 100$)
1. get some heatsinks from amazon + get the LLano Cooling Pad
ie: https://tinyurl.com/heatsinkamazonrazer « use the biggest ones
2. remove the backplate of the razer laptop & attach the biggest heatsinks to the CPU + GPU + affected arm area (so the Razer Blade heatsink is on, but the amazon ones go on top of it where the cores are located, so keep the broken heatsink on the Razer Blade because we are expanding it!)
3. Put the Razer Blade (without the backplate) on top of the LLano Cooling Pad & turn the pad on when using & max when doing hardcore stuff like UE5, Gaming, Dev, etc….
4. Download Throttlestop on the Razer Blade & have the following settings:

A. Open FIVR & for CPU Core & CPU P Cache Unlock Adjustable Voltage (they both need to be the same) & set the OFFSET Voltage to around -125vm then on bottom right click: “Ok - Save voltages Immediately”
B. Open TPL & Set Disabled Controls to off + Enable the Long Power P1, Short Power P2 to be both clamped & locked at values: 60 & 70/80 respectfully → you can also enable speedshift I have it at 40 & 56 but it won’t matter because of part C
C. After doing A & B, go back to the main ThrottleStop & have these settings: Speed Shift EPP & SpeedStep Enabled, Disable Turbo is Enabled (As in Tick Disabled Turbo)
D. Under that click: “Turn On” then “Save” « it will save for next time you start thorttlestop

TBH This gets me temps around 85 Degrees Celsius with the broken heatsink when playing COD BO6 which is better than throttling for sure also I’m sure their are better throttlestop settings, but these worked for me to keep the CPU Stable

Sad that my Heatsink literally blew up at the center of the cpu area - it looks like the pressure was too high & the heatsinks were not built within spec for some batches

I have the same thing just happen to my less that 2yr old Razer Blade 16 4090.   A couple of days ago the fans just spun up while I was playing a game and the system shutdown.  Now any app that tries to use the discrete GPU will cause the unit to overheat.  The machine was over $4k and sad to hear Razer is not standing behind it.  I guess I am done with Razer after 5 laptops in a row.  Any suggestions for a comparably slim gaming laptop?

Same exact issue here. Replaced the thermal paste and it still hits 100c while idling. Confirmed via thermal camera that the heat isn’t being carried away from the chips. Heatsink is dead on a 2.5 year old device. Completely unacceptable quality standards here. I’ll never buy one of these trash products again.

Same issue. Laptop is a Razer Blade 16" (2023) RZ09-0483x that was preordered in February 2023. CPU started running in excess of 100C and the fans are screaming at idle. The CPU and GPU areas of the heatsink assembly are extremely hot and the edges near the fins are cool to the touch. Fans are blowing cool air, so heat is not being properly transferred.

Hoping Razer makes a replacement heatsink available. Feels really bad to trash a $4300 laptop over a $100 heatsink.

I might have similar issue.

Razer blade 18 less than 1 year old.

Idling at 80-90c and goes up to 100c when starting even Chrome.

Upper case is hot but fans exhaust is cool.

You might be in luck. Apparently there’s replacement vapor chambers out there for the Razer Blade 18.

If you’re out of warranty it might be worth a shot.

A simple solution exists you need money to pull it off, Here is what you do you go to Amazon or Ebay and you buy a New Blade 16 or 18 with Warranty straight from Razer swap the Heatsink, Return their new unit with your Defective Heatsink under the 30 days return and Let Razer Deal with it for Free…

I know how it sounds but Razer is basically Scaming you and they don’t Care about your products or how you’d pay for their defective Devices on top of that I’ve cought them Braking Multiply EU Warranty and Right to repair laws so in my book it is deserved !

The situation we are experiencing was exposed in two videos by two famous YouTubers.

I hope that Razer will now change its policy and look at consumers with fresh eyes. It's easy to see that we are frustrated and that we will avoid the brand's products because of the treatment we have received.

I will contact support again and try my luck at buying a new heatsink. My laptop is still dead due to the lack of a heatsink/vapor chamber.

About time they get some fairly deserve justice..

I like Razer, which is why I have and have had many of their products. I don't want the brand to be destroyed.

But these videos are important at this moment, to make clear what we are going through. I need better treatment from Razer. We buy extremely expensive laptops and after the sale we don't have the level of support we need. A premium product is only premium if it is entirely premium. The consumer experience will only be premium if they have premium support and after-sales service. Examples: BMW and Dell…

Exactly but as German Razer Support is non existent and their behaviour is considered to us a complete scam to the consumer..

I'm starting to think I should start a return request before my Razer Blade 18 2025 even gets here.

Today, I regret buying a Razer laptop. I had an Alienware that worked perfectly. I've also had Asus and MSI laptops. I had no problems with any of them. Only the Razer had this problem with the vapor chamber after 1 year and 4 months of use.

This problem could be easily solved if Razer sold the complete heatsink separately. And didn't charge almost USD$3000 to replace the heatsink.

Before buying a laptop, it's always a good idea to research its performance, but we can't forget about chronic problems and the brand's after-sales service. I made a mistake when I bought the Razer Blade 18. I like the brand and, until I had a problem, I trusted Razer. Now I plan to avoid them =/.

Have Blade 16 2023, heatsink died after around 1.5 years. My mistake was repasting it after it started to overheat out of nowhere thinking that it will fix it and that voided my warranty, and razer said we can fix it for you for over 2k euros. Basicaly now i’m stuck with very expensive paperweight. I didn’t even think that repasting could void warranty.

All of us who have laptops in this same situation (from what I see here and on Reddit, there are many). We should start contacting support and also look into legal means in our countries to have this reversed. In addition to the disregard for consumers, this lack of support is illegal in several countries.

For example, some phone brands have chronic battery problems. As this is proven to be a chronic and hidden problem, companies are obliged to provide support and warranty even after the warranty period stipulated at the time of purchase has expired.

In my country, even Ford went through this due to a gearbox issue.

It is also important to make our frustration clear in forums, videos, etc., so that other potential buyers are aware of this situation before purchasing a laptop. As I mentioned earlier, I do a lot of research before buying a product, but this time I didn't see many cases of people complaining about Razer's Vapor Chamber, and most were able to buy them on Aliexpress or Ebay. But you can't find the Razer Blade 18 (2023~2024) anywhere. I only discovered this problem after it happened to me. I also saw battery problems, but you can easily find the battery on various websites, and Razer also sells the battery separately, at least for now.

I hope Razer changes its policy and sells the Heatsink separately and at a fair price. In addition to being bad for us consumers, this is an environmental problem, with the disposal of these products. Because without the heatsink, this product becomes useless.

My Blade 16 w/4080 (-0483) is a $4000 paperweight now, having experienced a failure that looks exactly like a vapor chamber failure. A month of searching for a replacement part has turned up nothing.

Anyone know what the coolant is? I’m considering trying to repair and refill the vapor chamber, alternately, attaching a 3rd part cooling solution (e.g. a new vapor cooler / fan) that would make the machine a ‘slim’ desktop.
