Razer Blade 16 rz09-0483 heatsink issue

Here’s a more polished version of your message:

Hello, everyone!

I’m new here and need some help with my Razer Blade 16 (rz09-0483) laptop. It’s a relatively new device with a 13th-gen Intel processor, but it has started overheating. Most of the time, the CPU temperature stays around 100°C without any load.

I’ve already tried changing the thermal paste, but it didn’t make a difference. I then checked the heatsink using a thermal camera and noticed that it doesn’t spread heat properly anymore. It seems I need a new heatsink, but I’m not sure where to order one.

I’ve tried searching online, but I only found one link that is no longer active:

https://www.impactcomputers.com/index.php/products/razer-14051642-00

Any help or advice on where I can find a replacement heatsink would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I have the same POS and my heatsink also went bad - its part number is 14051603221121, S Repaste helped, but its still shuts down under load.  Thermals show hot over CPU, but cool over pipes and fins. So its clear the pipes are broken.

So far i have not found any source other than impactcomputers showing any listing for it.  I contacted them and they no longer have it. Razer support wants $3K to repair it (rip off alert), and i can pick up a new one off ebay for less than that.

If you (or anyone) find a source let me know. (and i will do likewise)  My next step is to buy heat pipes and hack it.

Same issue with Razer Blade 18(2023).

It's a shame that such an expensive product has a chronic problem and Razer doesn't provide any support. The price they charge for the heatsink is better than buying another laptop. ¬¬

I'm hoping to find the heatsink on some website. For now I have a 3.3kg paperweight.

I am also having same issue just now w/ Razer Blade 18 - I also checked repasting, temps, etc… only thing left potentially is the heatsink

I checked online - for now there are no available heatsinks - I asked razer support i hope they get back soon
In the meantime is there any way to mod/create custom cooling for the laptop?

If you have any news from Razer, please share it with us. But from what I've researched they charge USD$2000 for the service and you have to send the laptop to them. Something that's impossible for me, as I'm currently in Brazil. And USD$2000 doesn't make any sense, you can find this part on ebay or aliexpress for USD$200~500.

I'm also thinking of making an adapted heatsink... From what I've researched I need a thin copper plate and then put some Heatpipe that sells on Aliexpress. My fear is that it won't be efficient enough. Vapor chambers are usually much more efficient. And to do this using Heatpipe I would need more space and the laptop is extremely thin. The VRM might not get into that heatsink and that could be a problem. If anyone has done this and solved the problem please share it with us. I think it's unlikely to be efficient with an i9 13850hx and a 4080 or 4090.

Thanks and good luck to all of us. =/

Well,

I have a solution. Its not the cleanest but its cheap enough to make the most out of the situation (around 100$)
1. get some heatsinks from amazon + get the LLano Cooling Pad
ie: https://tinyurl.com/heatsinkamazonrazer « use the biggest ones
2. remove the backplate of the razer laptop & attach the biggest heatsinks to the CPU + GPU + affected arm area (so the Razer Blade heatsink is on, but the amazon ones go on top of it where the cores are located, so keep the broken heatsink on the Razer Blade because we are expanding it!)
3. Put the Razer Blade (without the backplate) on top of the LLano Cooling Pad & turn the pad on when using & max when doing hardcore stuff like UE5, Gaming, Dev, etc….
4. Download Throttlestop on the Razer Blade & have the following settings:

A. Open FIVR & for CPU Core & CPU P Cache Unlock Adjustable Voltage (they both need to be the same) & set the OFFSET Voltage to around -125vm then on bottom right click: “Ok - Save voltages Immediately”
B. Open TPL & Set Disabled Controls to off + Enable the Long Power P1, Short Power P2 to be both clamped & locked at values: 60 & 70/80 respectfully → you can also enable speedshift I have it at 40 & 56 but it won’t matter because of part C
C. After doing A & B, go back to the main ThrottleStop & have these settings: Speed Shift EPP & SpeedStep Enabled, Disable Turbo is Enabled (As in Tick Disabled Turbo)
D. Under that click: “Turn On” then “Save” « it will save for next time you start thorttlestop

TBH This gets me temps around 85 Degrees Celsius with the broken heatsink when playing COD BO6 which is better than throttling for sure also I’m sure their are better throttlestop settings, but these worked for me to keep the CPU Stable

Sad that my Heatsink literally blew up at the center of the cpu area - it looks like the pressure was too high & the heatsinks were not built within spec for some batches

thanks :)

I have the same thing just happen to my less that 2yr old Razer Blade 16 4090.   A couple of days ago the fans just spun up while I was playing a game and the system shutdown.  Now any app that tries to use the discrete GPU will cause the unit to overheat.  The machine was over $4k and sad to hear Razer is not standing behind it.  I guess I am done with Razer after 5 laptops in a row.  Any suggestions for a comparably slim gaming laptop?
