Razer Blade 17 (2019) Problem when using two external displays | Razer Insider

Hi,

I have a razer blade pro 17 2019 with the Nvidia RTX 2080 Max-Q.

I have been trying to connect the blade to my two external displays which are:

Acer X34 Predator

Rog Swift PG279Q

These displays each have 1 x Display Port and 1 x HDMI as possible connection methods.

So, I connected one display using an HDMI cable to the Blades HDMI port, and the other using a USB-C to Display Port cable to the Thunderbolt 3 output on the right side of the Blade. This setup worked.......well not entirely.

The monitor connected to the Thunderbolt 3 port, will randomly go into standby mode, and its impossible to wake it up again without doing a full restart of the Blade. There is no pattern to when the monitor goes to sleep, it can happen after 5 minutes, or an hour, It's completely random. It can also happen while I am actively using that display.

I tried swapping the cables around to see if the problem was with just one display. But the exact same thing happens regardless of which display is connected to the thunderbolt 3. I also tried the same thing with a Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro connected to the Blades Thunderbolt 3 output. This has a thunderbolt 3 out and a display port out. So I connected the displays to these, and the Thunderbolt display still went into sleep......Tried swapping the cables over to the opposite display again....still happens.

I have looked at every possible power options I can think of, including the BIOS, Windows power settings, device manager power settings, and both displays internal settings. Every possible option to allow a device to be put to sleep etc is off. I cant for the life of me work out what's wrong.

I'm starting to wonder if its something with the USB-C to Display Port cable? Anyone have any ideas, advice, or experience of setting up the Blade with dual monitors, either using a dock or just the Blades ports directly? This is driving me nuts, I have searched the web, and cant find any answers to this specific problem. Please help!
