Razer Blade 17 (2022) - Thunderbolt port does not work | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

I've had this Razer laptop for a year now and all I have are issues. First, a broken key and the wire became so bare within 7 months of receiving it. Then, I started having blue screen problems after I upgraded the RAM to 32GB. Now, the Thunderbolt port does not work anymore. I've tried updating the BIOS, thinking that might be the problem, and I've also downloaded the drivers (the latest available for this model are from last year) but nothing has worked. When I switched from my old Mac, I needed a laptop as reliable as it was, but this one isn’t. Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Hi Diego_Barri,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you've been facing with your Razer Blade 17 (2022) and the Razer Thunderbolt. Was the RAM upgrade performed by a technician, or did you do it yourself? Have you made any modifications to the laptop's hardware or software other than the RAM upgrade? When did the Thunderbolt port issue start, and were there any events leading up to it not working? How frequently do you experience the blue screen problems after the RAM upgrade? If the Thunderbolt 4 Dock port isn’t working, you can try to perform the steps below:

  1. Restart the PC or laptop connected to the Thunderbolt 4 Dock Chroma.
  2. Disconnect and reconnect all devices to the Thunderbolt 4 Dock Chroma.
  3. Disconnect then reconnect the Thunderbolt 4 Dock Chroma to the PC or laptop.

If this doesn’t help, please PM me your device's serial number so I can verify its model and help you accordingly.  Have a good one!
