My RB18 suddenly keeps dropping down to 60Hz and the Synapse popup will not even give the 240Hz option.  Just updated to latest BIOS and Windows 11 23H2.

Only way to get back to 240Hz is to reboot, then after just a bit it switches back to 60Hz.

Uhh?  This is rather frustrating.  What gives?

Also looks like it is dropping down the to “LOW” GPU setting also.

I can work around this by rolling back the Nvidia driver.  Of course, then COD III complains I don’t have the right driver…

OK Driver:

31.0.15.3667
7/12/2023

Bad Driver:

31.0.15.4601
10/26/2023

Debugging this further, it seems these issues are also avoided while using the latest Nvidia driver if you leave Optimus mode on in the Nvidia control panel.  I had it set to dGPU only.

Thanks for the help. I had the exact same problem. I couldn’t change it out of 60Hz in the Nvidia control panel and wasn’t given an option to change the refresh rate in Synapse 3. Putting it on optimus took away the option for me to adjust the refresh rate in the Nvidia control panel but I got the options back in Synapse to change to 120Hz or 240Hz. I really didn’t want to do this. I’d rather just leave it in dedicated GPU mode since the color scheme is better and things just run smoother but I guess this is a good compromise for now. I just got this two days ago so still figuring things out. I also am contemplating updating bios drivers from Razer support page but was just waiting to see if I had existing issues. If I don’t I’ll hold off.

I just had this issue again. The following brought back the 240Hz option:

1. Open Nvidia Control Panel

2. Select "Change resolution" under "Display" in the left panel

3. Under "Apply the following settings." Select "Use Nvidia color settings"

4. Click the "Apply" button in the bottom right. (Note: I also selected an Output color depth of 10 bpc but I don't think that had anything to do with the 240Hz coming back)

5. Select 240Hz under "Refresh rate" on the same screen as "Use Nvidia color settings"

6. Open Synapse and check if 240Hz is now an option.
