I’ve got a Razer Blade 18 with a 4090 and i9 processor. I’ve had it for about 10 months now, and for the past 6 months or so it’s been using an insane amount of RAM even when nothing is running.
I’ve upgraded it to have 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and its regularly using ~50% of that even without an intensive applications running, or even any programs at all. I’ve added screenshots of RamMap and Task Manager, where you can see the memory usage of the processes definitely doesn’t add up to ~80% of memory used. Both of my SSDs have over 40% of free space. This is how it looks like most of the time during normal usage. (FYI Vivaldi is my Chromium based browser). I also use WSL, which I’ve capped to at most 8GB of memory utilisation.
Let me know if you need any more metrics, I’d like to figure out what is going on and what the issue is (if there is one at all) and try to improve the performance on this machine
