Razer blade 18 won't allow me to switch off nvidia optimus while an external monitor is plugged in

I recently bought a Razer Blade 18 and I’ve liked it so far but when I tried gaming on my external monitor (connected either through the thunderbolt 5 or HDMI 2.1 ports) it felt really slow. So I checked and realized that in the nvidia control panel the other options besides optimus were greyed out where I had previously set it to NVIDIA GPU only. If I cannot use the graphics card with external monitors that is kind of a deal breaker honestly so I am hopeful this can be resolved easily otherwise I will have to return the laptop.

Never mind resolved through NVIDIA support

Also found my own workaround- if you enable RTX4090 only in the bios instead of using the optimus technology you can force the graphics card to be used but without doing this as long as PhysX and the 3D settings are configured to use the RTX4090 via the NVIDIA Control Panel it should still use the graphics card for games even if it says it is set to Optimus.

How did you manage to fix that?
