Hello got Razer Blade 18" (2025) | RZ09-0529 at the start of the summer, most of the time it’s connected to LG OLED77C5 via HDMI 2.1 and everything works great at 4k HDR 144hz, but my system just keeps randomly crashing/rebooting during gaming or just watching youtube videos or twitch. It happens absolutely random, i can game for 4 or more hours straight with heavy GPU usage with no restarts/crashes or it restarts twice in just 1 hour with no heavy usage of GPU or CPU.

I have updated all drivers i could, updated BIOS and everything provided on razer website for my model, i have tried turning off any CPU and GPU overclocking and it still keeps happening. I installed the whocrashed soft and it shows nothing on this reboots.

AIso i dont have any other apps working in background except for synapse and other razer products.

I have the exact same. Do you have a fix yet?

Hi guys

I have the same issue with my RTX 5090 Blade 18 (I upgraded RAM though on 2x64 gigs but I don’t think it should be the issue)

I’ve been told that switching to the Windows Pro from Home may introduce drivers issue and it may require a clean install. My issues got worse after that. I’ve just received a Pro drivers using Intel driver update, Nvidia app and WIndows Update

I’ll check how these updates will work for me and get back to you guys

Hi 👋, I’m trying to solve this random shutdowns (reboots) for more than two months already, my system with 5080 during gaming completely shutdown and stats automatically after a few seconds, I monitored all temps with hwinfo and it looks ok, I had several bsods also - but it was related to ram overheating- I installed 2x48 gb crucial 5600 ram and it has chips from both sides - I installed thermal pads under each stick - and start using cooling pad - now testing and monitoring, I’m not sure that it was connected to shutdowns because shutdowns gives no bsod and no description in event log, just statement that it was unexpected. I will update this thread after several days of testing, please also post any updates regarding your situation

Hey everyone, even though Razer issued an RMA for me, I encouraged myself to do the following:

  • Swapping my replaced 128 gigs of RAM to potentially solve the issue of putting the RAM in wrong channel mode;
  • I performed a clean install of Windows 11 home from the image I downloaded from Razer Online Support. I performed drivers updates using only the automatic utilities such as Windows Updates, Nvidia App and Intel Driver Update Assistant.

So far I have everything running nice and smoothly, no random reboots.

P. S.: I provided logs of my previously installed Windows Pro, and Razer support said that the drivers aren’t compatible and from the logs it looks like the drivers were rebooting themselves unexpectedly, thus they recommended a clean install, which I did and so far it works fine

Thanks for the answers, if this (clean install of Windows 11) also helped someone plz let us know.

Hi, I tried clean install from Razer recovery partition - it didn’t help, I replaced my crucial 96GB 5600 ram back to 32 gb stock - now testing - looks like no shutdowns 2nd day, I will update in a few days

I tried everything, stock ssd, stock ram, still random shutdowns, sometimes one shutdown in 2-3 days, sometimes 2–3 shutdowns per day 🤯 temps are good, tried to reset system and install fresh from laptop recovery but also no results, also I tried fresh windows install following windows procedure creating boot usb - also no positive results, I suspect hardware issue with motherboard, will update here if find solution, but I’m loosing my hope

Ok, long story short again:

1. I received a replacement provided by Razer. It has similar symptoms. I am a 100% sure it’s software, likely a combination of drivers and BIOS.

2. Yes, I updated drivers using Nvidia App and Intel Update tools. I didn’t update BIOS.

3. I am certain my issue is linked to what was found in this thread: https://insider.razer.com/razer-support-45/black-screen-after-switching-to-dedicated-gpu-82903

Conclusion: currently, Razer doesn’t have a properly working software for MUX and Nvidia Optimus, so for those who uses Intel for Chrome and Desktop to save battery and use Nvidia GPU only for selected games this will 95% will end up in random reboots, black screen at the boot etc

Here is the workaround. Unfortunately, you should a) set in BIOS to discrete GPU use only b) reset the entire system (to be on the safe side) c) never use anything that thouches internal display MUX and Nvidia Optimus as Razer doesn’t know how to build quality products that cost $4000+

Hi, I’m not sure if it’s software, I tried dedicated GPU only, and tried reinstalling fresh windows, my shutdowns still occurs, regarding system freeze after switching from discrete to intel - it starts after updating drivers with intel assistant - I decided not to install intel assistant at all - system drivers updates only with windows update center, but in general I agree, this generation has a lot of software bugs, I never face something like this with my old blade 15 2019 for 6 years of heavy use…

And regarding black screen after switching GPU in bios - I also have it, it may be software, I fix it by connecting my tv to usb-c port witch connected to intel graphics card - and I was able to get to bios to change back, but in my case all this issues doesn’t bother me much, my pain is random shutdowns, they occur on all performance modes even on silent, but looks like the higher performance mode the more frequently shutdowns happen, last shutdown happened 5 hours ago  on silent mode with cpu turbo disabled- temps we’re 68 GPU / 69 cpu / 70 GPU memory with GPU 90 watt and cpu 25 watt load ….
